Karnataka PGCET choice filling process includes the selection of courses and colleges based on the preferences of the candidates. The choice filling process is a mandatory step for a candidate who wants to participate in the Karnataka PGCET counselling process and get an allotment.

The first round of choice filling for Karnataka PGCET was initiated on Jan 26, 2024 and ended on Jan 28, 2024. The candidates are given a number of options during the selection of the courses and colleges as per their preferences. They have the option of going to the second round of allotment if they are not satisfied with the first allotment.

Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2023 dates were revised and the choice filling of seats in the colleges and institutes was initiated on Jan 26, 2024. The last date for the payment of the admission for the first seat allotment schedule was Feb 3, 2024.

The process of choice filling is an indispensable part in the counselling and seat allotment procedure of the Karnataka PGCET. Through the process of choice filling, the candidates are required to select their preferred course and the preferred college from among the colleges participating in the counselling process of Karnataka PGCET.

Karnataka PGCET Choice Filling Options 2023

The candidates who have checked the Round-1 KEA seat allotment result, can go ahead with choice filling. There are four options available to the candidates under the Karnataka PGCET Choice Filling Process. They are:

1. The candidates do not have to go to the second round of seat allotments if they are satisfied with the first allotment.
2. In cases where a candidate is satisfied with the first round of seat allotment, and yet wants to participate in the second round of allotment, the candidate can do so against the payment of nominal fee. In such a scenario, if the allotment in the second round seems more preferable to the candidate, the allotment of the first round stands cancelled.
3. In cases where a candidate is not satisfied with any round of allotment, he/she has the option to go to the next round by reviewing the process of option entry once again.
4. In cases where a candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotment and does not want to participate in the counselling process of Karnataka PGCET, have the option of forfeiting their candidacy.

Documents Required for Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2023

During the process of Karnataka PGCET Counselling, the candidates are required to bring their original documents and submit copies of the same. The documents that are needed in the counselling process are:

• Receipt of the Fee
• A printout of the Karnataka PGCET application form
• Karnataka PGCET admit card / hall ticket
• Marksheet of class 10 board exam
• Marksheet of class 12 board exam
• Degree certificate
• A BEO countersigned study certificate for the candidates from Karnataka
• Income certificate
• Caste certificate
• Sponsored certificate
• Work experience certificate

Karnataka PGCET Counselling Process 2023

The Karnataka PGCET Counselling Process consists of a number of stages starting from registration to college reporting. The stages have been explained below:

1. Registration Process

For the process of registration, the candidates who have acquired a rank in the Karnataka PGCET must go to any of the helplines, which are 10 in number. The PGCET number has to be produced to get registered for the process of counselling. During this process, the candidates are informed about the counselling process, allotment of seats, admission fee, and reporting to the college.

2. Document Verification

The document verification process includes showing the original documents and submission of the copies of the documents. It must be noted here that the candidates must complete the document verification process in order to opt for the option entry process.

3. Generation of Secret Key

When the document verification process is completed the candidates will receive a secret key for registration. They would have to register and login, following which they can enter the portal for option entry. In this portal the candidates can fill in their preferences for courses and colleges and add or change or delete their options. They can take the printout of their allotment details here.

4. Display of Seat Matrix

The details regarding the seat matrix is received by KEA before the first round of seat allotment begins. The process of option entry begins after the seat matrix is displayed. The official website releases the details of the allotment and options available on the basis of category, courses, and colleges. The seat allotment is done in keeping with the seat matrix.

5. Option Entry

The option entry process is open to all the candidates who have completed their document verification process. In this process, the candidates will fill in their preferences for courses and colleges. The options for all disciplines can be entered. The option entry has no limit. However, candidates must note that the options that are entered on the last day will be accepted as the final selected option.

6. Mock Allotment

The mock allotment status is released on the official website of KEA before the beginning of the first round of seat allotment. The candidates are also given the option to change their allotments after viewing the mock allotment. Through this process the candidates are informed about the process of allotment of colleges and courses based on the marks scored in the examination.

7. Seat Allotment

For the process of seat allotment, the options entered by the candidates will be taken into consideration. The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of the marks obtained and the preference of course and college in the option entry process.

8. Admission Fee, College Reporting

The candidates who accept the seat allotment will have to download the challan from the official website of KEA and make the payment of admission fee to the concerned college. The admission fee must be paid at the banks specified. Following the payment, the bank gives two copies of the receipt for college and the candidate.

The candidate must visit the college to complete the admission process within the specified dates. The candidate must take the copy of the challan, the receipt of the admission fee and original documents at the time of admission. After the admission process, the students must login to the portal of KEA and report that they have successfully joined the selected college.
