In case of broken duration, the candidates must have cleared class 10th or 12th from the government institute in Karnataka.  OR Candidates must have cleared the qualifying examination of Karnataka and any one of their parents must have studied in Karnataka for 7 years.  OR The children of Ex-Servicemen who have chosen Karnataka as their hometown at the time of joining the defense services.
