UPPSC Paper Analysis 2020: Pre-Exam Analysis

The UPPSC exam is the most highly reputed exam in the state of Uttar Pradesh and is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. The Governor of the state appoints the top officers of the UPPSC UP PCS and they are only second to the state’s IAS officers. The UPPSC exam has two parts - a written exam and an interview process.

The UPPSC exam will be held on October 11, 2020 and the state will see a 26% increase in women candidates. Of the total number of selected candidates, 41 are women. This comes with an increased level of competition which is why the Pre exam analysis is important. Candidates must understand the selection process and the number of vacancies to know where they stand in the UPPSC exam. The cutoff for the prelims and the mains exam also plays an important role here.

UPPSC Mains Exam 2020

The UPPSC exam will be in two shifts.

• The Morning Shift from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
• The Afternoon Shift from 2PM to 5PM.

Candidates are expected to wear masks at the exam centers and maintain social distancing. Thermal scanning and hand sanitizers will be provided so the students can be confident and comfortable while answering the UP PCS exam. UPPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2020

Once a candidate qualifies from the prelims exam, they move on to the mains exam. The UPPSC UP PCS Mains Pre-exam analysis for each paper is mentioned below. The total weightage of marks is 1500.

• Candidates can expect descriptive type questions over MCQs
• A new paper called ‘Ethics’ will be introduced this year.

Here are the key points about the UPPSC 2020 exam:

1. The exam is conducted offline (pen-paper exam)
2. There are 8 papers, namely:
1. Essay paper
2. General Hindi Paper
3. General Studies 1 - 4 (Four Papers)
4. Optional Subject 1 and 2 (2 separate papers)
3. General Hindi and the essay paper are valued at 150 marks each. All the other papers are valued at 200 marks bringing the grand total to 1500.
4. Negative marking will deduct 1/3rd of the mark from every incorrect answer.
