Andhra University,[AU] Visakhapatnam is spread over 422 acres with almost 121 buildings including academic and administrative blocks.AU is a public university affiliated with UGC and its motto is “May the divine light illuminates our studies”. University looks after the needs and requirements of students and ensures that every student should get proper facilities.

AU Campus Highlights

AU is recognised for its campus and residential facilities. Some of the highlighting features of the AU campus are listed below.

• AU organises National and Regional workshops, National Seminars, Interaction sessions, National and International Conferences, Training programmes, Orientations and many more events.
• This university also has its own society which looks after the clubs like enactment, debating, dancing, singing, fitness etc. 
• Students who are active in the arena of sports can participate in several competitions held on the level of inter and intra university.
• There are programmes organised by the university to greet the students like freshers party, convocation, farewell.

AU Campus Facilities

The AU has a wide range of facilities provided to students. Some of these are mentioned below:

Classrooms: Classrooms are well furnished and equipped with proper sitting arrangements. E-Boards are installed in the classrooms for better understanding and learning of students

Library: There are 505000 books available for students in the library of AU. Almost 62 printed foreign journals, 120 printed Indian journals, 8500+ e-journals, 5000 backup volumes, 15 newspapers, 880 CD-ROMs, 35 general magazines and much more are available for the students of AU. 

Hostel: On-campus, hostels are divided into :

• 23 Boys Hostels
• 10 Girls Hostels 
• Arts and Commerce hostel: There are 414 single rooms available for students who want single occupancy, 48 double occupancy rooms, 6 rooms for three seater occupancy, 30 rooms for four-seater occupancy.
