The main focus areas among the various training and placement activities in the Training, and Placement Cell are; to build solid industrial relationships, to find appropriate corporate mentors, to assist students with corporate recruitment, to arrange summer internships, to organize MDPs, and to invite corporates to campus for seminars and interactions with students. The training and placement cell serves as a link between bharatiya vidya bhavan institute of management science and the corporate world. 

To help young managers improve their professional skills and etiquette, BIMS has implemented the "Corporate Mentor Scheme," in which classes/sections are divided into groups of ten students each. Two groups are assigned to one corporate mentor. To encourage continuous engagement, every Saturday has been designated as 'Business Interaction Day,' and students are invited to participate in various club activities by corporate executives. Students also complete real projects and survey work assigned by their mentors. 

BIMS organizes periodic industrial trips, preferably to manufacturing industries, to expose students to varied techniques and familiarize them with the input-process-output cycle. BIMS alumni who are now working in the corporate world also interact with the students and discuss their college and career experiences. To groom students and assist them in acing the campus recruitment process, the Training and Placement Cell hosts mock GD and PI sessions with corporate professionals, who provide suggestions on how to face/ prepare for the campus drive. BIMS has also partnered with three non-profit organizations to provide their students with hands-on project work.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Institute of Management Science  Internship 

All students at BIMS Kolkata, must complete an eight-week Summer Internship as part of their academic requirements. Their training and placement cell organizes summer projects in various industries, taking into account the students' specializations and facilitating work in a variety of live projects. After completing the summer internship project, students must produce their separate project report with the assistance of their faculty adviser and submit it to a professional panel of industry and academic experts. 

Due to the Pandemic, summer internship projects were primarily virtual last year(2020). Students were able to complete internal projects with the help of their faculty and projects with various corporations as part of their Summer Internship Program. Deloitte, ITC Ltd., TOI, OYO Rooms, Ramco Cements, Sriram LI, New Edge Finvest, Turiya Communication, NGEN Research, OneX Solutions, GSB Research, and Unschool were among the companies who participated in the BIMS Internship.
