Bharati,’ meaning speech, is another name for Goddess Saraswati, symbolizing academics, arts, and knowledge. Bharati College, a renowned women’s institution, was established on 20th September 1971 as Bharati Mahila College, with permanent affiliation to the University of Delhi. Shri L.K. Advani, former Deputy Prime Minister of India and Bharat Ratna awardee, served as its first Governing Body Chairman. The college has consistently emphasized women's education, development, and self-expression.

Initially operating from a government school in Karol Bagh with 241 students and 13 faculty members, the college lacked its own building. Classes were held post-school hours until it took over the premises fully in its third year. Known locally as 'Pahariwala College,' it was centrally located near landmarks like Naaz Cinema, Bhuli Bhatiyari Ka Mahal, and Connaught Place.

In 1976-77, 8.6 acres of land in Janakpuri were allotted for the college, but construction was delayed until 1994 due to encroachments. The new campus became operational in 1998, marking a significant milestone in its history.

Bharti College Of Engineering & Technology Admission

Bharati College, University of Delhi offers various UG and PG courses. The B.A. The program spans 3 years, with admission based on the last qualifying exam and a total tuition fee of ₹540. The 3-year B.Com program, offering 433 seats, also charges ₹540 in tuition fees, with direct admission based on academic eligibility. At the PG level, the 2-year M.A. program (4 semesters) requires a CUET-PG score for admission, with a total fee of ₹27,512.

UG Courses: Bharati College offers 3-year UG programs in Arts, Science, and Commerce, including BA Program, B.Com (Hons), B.Com, BA (Hons) Journalism, BA (Hons) Psychology, B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics, and others. Admission requires meeting eligibility criteria and appearing for CUET UG.

• BA (Hons): Minimum 45% in 10+2 for subjects like English, History, Hindi, Political Science, and Sociology; 55% for Psychology and Sociology.
• B.Sc (Hons) Maths: Requires 45% overall and 50% in Mathematics.
• B.Com: Minimum 60% in 10+2 with Mathematics and a language subject.
• General BA: Requires 50% in 10+2.

PG Courses: Bharati College offers a 2-year MA (Hindi) program. Eligibility includes a BA/BA (Hons) in a relevant field. Selection is based on CUET PG scores or merit in the qualifying exam.

In the India Today Arts rankings, Bharati College secured the 60th position among 186 colleges in 2024, maintaining its 60th rank from 2023, where it competed among 173 colleges nationwide.

Bharti College Of Engineering & Technology Placements

The Bharati College Placement 2023 report has not been released yet. According to the NIRF 2022 report, 11 UG students were placed, with a median package of ₹2.50 LPA and an average package of ₹3.17 LPA. Around 16 companies visited the campus offering 19 job profiles. Some of the major recruiters included Universal Data Solutions, Zoutons, Decathlon, Orbis Financial, and Zone Media.

Bharti College Of Engineering & Technology Scholarships

SC/ST/OBC/Minority students can apply for national scholarships through the NSP portal. Students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are also eligible for state scholarships. To apply, students need to submit their application form along with income certificate, marks statement, and caste certificate to the College office by the announced deadline. Late applications will not be accepted. Visually impaired students can also apply for scholarships from the All India Blind Federation and Help the Blind.
