All the aspiring candidates should have passed [10+2] or High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board or any other equivalent examination conducted by any State Board or Equivalent with a minimum 50% marks aggregate with English as a subject. All SC/ST candidates have a relaxation of 5% of marks in the minimum aggregate set as above.
Admissions are open to those who have passed the Pre-University Course with Science subjects. Additional conditions of eligibility for specific combinations are applied as per Mangalore University Board. Subjects of Study are as follows:
Group I: Languages
A candidate shall opt for not more than two languages under group I
Group II: Optional Subjects
A candidate opting for Physics as an optional subject shall also opt Mathematics as an optional subject.
A candidate opting for Computer Science as an optional subject shall also opt Physics and Mathematics.
A Candidate opting for Botany shall opt for Zoology and Chemistry only.
Popular combinations:
A candidate who has passed the two years Pre-University Examination in Business Studies and Accountancy subjects conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in the State of Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto by Mangalore University is eligible for admission to this programme.

B.B.M three years graduate programme consisting of six semesters. Students seeking admission to this course must have passed Pre-University/Higher Secondary/10+2 Examination or equivalent of any recognised Board Council in any discipline.
Subjects of Study:
Canara College offers PG Course in Commerce (M.Com) from the academic year 2012-13.
The Post Graduation department of Commerce commenced from the academic year 2012-13.
All the candidates must have a bachelor's degree obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 50% of marks or equivalent CGPA of any of the recognized universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India.
