Eligibility Criteria for BA:

The institution offers a BA degree in the following streams:

• Economics

• English

• Computer applications 

All the aspiring candidates should have passed [10+2] or High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board or any other equivalent examination conducted by any State Board or Equivalent with a minimum 50% marks aggregate with English as a subject. All SC/ST candidates have a relaxation of 5% of marks in the minimum aggregate set as above.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc:

Admissions are open to those who have passed the Pre-University Course with Science subjects. Additional conditions of eligibility for specific combinations are applied as per Mangalore University Board. Subjects of Study are as follows:

Group I: Languages

• Language – I: English
• Language – II: Kannada / Hindi / Sanskrit

A candidate shall opt for not more than two languages under group I

Group II: Optional Subjects

• Botany
• Chemistry
• Computer Science
• Mathematics
• Physics
• Zoology
• Any other subjects introduced from time to time.

A candidate opting for Physics as an optional subject shall also opt Mathematics as an optional subject.

A candidate opting for Computer Science as an optional subject shall also opt Physics and Mathematics.

A Candidate opting for Botany shall opt for Zoology and Chemistry only.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Com:

A candidate who has passed the two years Pre-University Examination in Business Studies and Accountancy subjects conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in the State of Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto by Mangalore University is eligible for admission to this programme.

All the candidates should have passed  [10+2] or High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board or any other equivalent examination conducted by any State Board or Equivalent with a minimum 50% marks aggregate.For all the SC/ST candidates there's a 5% of marks relaxation on the minimum aggregate mentioned.The Subjects of Study are as follows:

B.B.M three years graduate programme consisting of six semesters. Students seeking admission to this course must have passed Pre-University/Higher Secondary/10+2 Examination or equivalent of any recognised Board Council in any discipline.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Com:

Canara College offers PG Course in Commerce (M.Com) from the academic year 2012-13. 

The Post Graduation department of Commerce commenced from the academic year 2012-13.

All the candidates must have a bachelor's degree obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 50% of marks or equivalent CGPA of any of the recognized universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India. 

For all the SC/ST candidates a relaxation of 5% of marks on the minimum aggregate is allowed.

Application Process for BA, BBM, B.Com, B.Sc, M.Com:

Once the admissions are open, the prospectus shall be available at Admission Desk at the College Office.

Prospective students are required to satisfy the basic requirements such as pass in examinations, progress, conduct, attendance, etc as per the rules framed by the University of Mangalore from time to time.

The last date for receiving application will be mentioned in the prospectus.

Selected students should join on or before the date prescribed after paying the College fees and other fees. They should produce the original certificates mentioned above at the time of interview.

All admissions made are provisional subject to the approval of the University of Mangalore. The exact day on which classes commence will be notified on the college notice board at the time of admission. Candidates are to be admitted by parent or guardian as the case may be. A list of students provisionally admitted will be put up on the notice board of the college.

Admission Process for BA, BBM, B.Com, B.Sc, M.Com:

Submission of Application Form:

Fully filled-in applications for admission to the College should reach the Principal within seven days of the publication of the results of PUC Board. Only true copies of certificates should be attached to the application.
