Eligibility Criteria at Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology, [CIT] Tumkur

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech:

• Candidates should have passed the two years of pre-university examinations (Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science as optional subjects) conducted by the Pre-University Board of Karnataka State or any other examination recognised as equivalent by the Visvesvaraya Technological University.
• The candidates should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in the optional subjects. 
• Candidates seeking lateral entry must have passed three-year year Diploma course conducted by the Board of Technical Examination of Karnataka.
• In the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST & Category I/II/III (Karnataka students only), the minimum percentage of marks must be 40% in the optional subjects as per rules.
• Admissions will be according to reservation policy of the State Government. 
• The eligibility criteria mentioned above may change from time to time.
• The candidates seeking admission are required to check the eligibility criteria before seeking admission. 
• The candidates must appear for CET examination.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech:

• The candidates must have passed B.E., / B.Tech. Examinations (in the relevant field) of VTU or any other University / Institution or any other examinations recognized as equivalent thereto. 
• The candidates must have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with minimum 50% of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations.
• In the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and Group I, the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations should be 45%. 
• The candidates must appear for PGCET/GATE.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA:

• The candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree recognized by VTU or who have passed any other examination recognized by VTU as equivalent thereto. 
• The candidates must have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with minimum 50% of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations.
• In the case of candidate belonging to SC/ST and any other groups classified the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations must be 45%. 
• Government seats and Management seats in colleges shall be filled as per the Government order.
• The candidates must appear for PGCET/KMAT/MAT.

Application Process for B.Tech, MBA, M.Tech:

• The candidates must log into the official website of the college.
• Then must click on "application form" under "Admissions" tab.
• The application form links appear on the screen.
• The candidate must download the form.
• The candidates must fill the form with personal and educational details.
• Then the candidates must submit the form.

Application Form for B.Tech:

Step 1: Personal and educational details of the candidate:

• The candidate must fill in name, gender and other such details.
• The candidate must fill in the choice of branch applied.
• The candidate must provide valid email id and address.
• The candidate must fill in the previous educational details such as marks obtained in 10th and 12th grade.

Step 2: Instructions to the candidate:

• The candidate must read through the instructions carefully.
• The candidate must abide by the rules and regulations mentioned.
• The candidate and parents must read through the joint instructions carefully.
• Then the candidate and the parent must sign the declaration.

Step 3: Entrance details of the candidate:

• The candidate must fill in the entrance exam details.
• The candidate must check the boxes according to which he/she shall submit the documents.
• The candidate must mention his/her requirement for the bus facility.
• The candidate must fill in the student copy carefully.

Step 4: Official purpose sheet not to be filled by candidates:

• The candidate must not fill this sheet.
• The candidate must return the sheet as it is.
• The sheet will be filled by officials only.

Admission Process for B.Tech, MBA, M.Tech:

• The admissions will be based on the merit obtained by the candidates.
• The candidates will have to attend the counseling process of the entrance examination.
• The candidates will be allotted seats based on the ranking obtained.
• The candidate can choose to accept the seat allotted or go for the next round.
• If the candidate chooses to accept the seat, he/she may pay the admission fee and enroll for the course.
