In March 1984, the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Junagadh was started to provide quality education, teaching and to aid research. The College is one of the constituent colleges of Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh. The campus is located in the middle of Junagarh city with the railway station being 4 km and the bus station being 3 km away. The college is located on a land of around 6 h.a. The instructional land adjoining the campus is of about 35 h.a.

CAET admissions are offered in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Agricultural Engineering. The College has various departments such as Processing and Food Engineering, Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Soil And Water Conservation Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Agricultural Engineering Extension Education. It also has a Testing & Training Centre of Farm Machinery. Ph.D programme has also been started from the year 2001. The College also admits foreign students under Indo-African, Indo-Afghanistan fellowships awarded by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi.

The College aims to give to the society, good quality agricultural engineers who will bridge the gap in the manpower in agricultural engineering in the fields of research, education, government agency, agro-industries etc. This will in turn help in the reduction of production cost will provide efficient machinery, soil and water conservation, irrigation management, use of renewable energy etc., which will finally help farmers get a better profit.
