About Library

The DAVCET Library collectively supports the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. All students and faculty members of the Institute are entitled to make use of the Library facilities on taking library membership. The Library, besides having a huge collection of books on engineering, science and humanities offers library services through its various Divisions. Initially setup in 2002 in Academic Block (Drawing Hall), the Library was shifted to Knowledge Development Centre in 2006 after being inaugurated by our honourable CM, Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Our goal

To provide a collection of books and other reading material of all related subjects to develop a comprehensive collection of information required for teaching and reference purpose to meet the present and future needs of its users.

Computer Center

The Institute has an excellent Computer Centre Equipped with WIPRO, IBM latest configuration Computers with 1GB RAM. It allows the Students /Faculty to cope with latest information and technology in relevant fields through 8 Mbps dedicated broadband link from BSNL. The institute timings are from 9:00 AM to 5:00PM but the Computer Centre remains open up to 7:00 PM evening. The Centre also facilitates the access of E-Journal to share the Knowledge in latest research areas for researcher.

Gym & Sports Facilities

The College has a well equipped sports department. The entire Sports Complex is spread in an area of 10 Acres. The Sports Complex has one Multipurpose Hall for Indoor games i.e. Badminton, Table-Tennis, Carom board, Chess, Multi-Gym, Yoga and Weight lifting, Two cemented Cricket pitches, one ground each for Football, Cricket and Athletic Track of 200 meter and two Volley grounds. In addition, two cemented Basketball courts, one Lawn Tennis Hard court. Timings for Sports activities are Morning 6.00 A.M. to 8.00 A.M. and Evening 4.00 P.M. to 7.00 P.M. for College students and Staff Members. The Sports Equipments/ kits are issued to the students during tournaments. The Inter-Branches Tournaments are conducted in various games annually i.e. Chess, Football, Badminton, Table Tennis, Cross-Country Race, Volleyball shooting & smashing, Cricket, and Annual Athletic Meet. Sports facilities for indoor games are also being created in the Boys and Girls Hostels.

Wi-Fi Campus

21st Century belongs to “Era of Web Information” as Internet plays backbone for every aspect of life. Understanding the need and importance of Internet in the field of education the DAVCET, Kanina campus is supported by round the Wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi) of 8 Mbps and has strong backbone of 10 access point links throughout the campus which covers each and every corner of the campus including hostels (boys/girls). With the help of which the students can access online information anywhere in and around the campus using their Laptops even after the normal college hours.

Hostel Facilities

Separate hostels are available for boys and girls with homely environment and parental care. Each room is provided with ceiling fan, tables, chairs, cupboards etc. Bathrooms are kept ultra-clean and are fitted with geysers. Various recreational facilities comprise of TV (with Dish TV connection), indoor games and a well equipped gymnasium. Each floor is having one water-cooler with water-purifier to provide cold water to the residents in the summer season. Reading material in the form of NEWS papers and magazines are available in the hostel. To make the energy efficient students are advised to use CFL tube lights have been installed in the entire hostel premises.

The hostel mess provides vegetarian, nutritious and hygienic food. There is Co-operative system of mess in the hostel. Students manage the affairs of mess in consultancy with the Hostel Warden and Principal. There is a mess managing committee of students representing the students of all departments, which looks after the mess activities including the kitchen materials. The committee on rotation basis also facilitates the activities related to cleanliness, discipline, water saving, gardening, and controlling of food wastage etc All efforts are made by the administration to make the residents feel at home and to make the environment conducive for studies.

Medical facilities are provided by the college to the all resident along with 24 hours ambulance facility. All the hostels are provided with 24 hours Internet connectivity through physical and wireless mode. . College has 24 Hrs. power backup through a newly installed silent 125KVA Generator.

Drinking (Alcoholism), Smoking, Ragging, Drug Abuse and any unhealthy practices or any kind of violence which is prohibited by law are strictly prohibited on the campus. Hostel warden as well as Anti Ragging Squad are deputed to monitor the situation inside the campus and hostels to ensure such kind of unpleasant events do not occur.

Transport Facility

DAVCET has an excellent transport facility for the faculty, staff & students with flexible and competitive fare. The institute buses are operated in different routes.

The route may be extendeed on the availability of staff & students. The transport facility remains available for any kind of emergency round-the-clock.
