SMVDU (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University) is a public and state university. It was established in 1999 under the Jammu and Kashmir Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Act'. SMVDU has four faculties consisting of 15 schools, which offer 8 undergraduate, 11 postgraduate, and 1 integrated program besides Ph.D. and post-doctoral research. SMVDU University has been ranked 78th among the Indian institutions and among the ranked top 100 business schools in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF 2020) declared by MHRD, Govt. of India. Admission to SMVDU courses is done by CUET scores. CUET UG 2022 SMVDU results are now available.

SMVDU's technical programs are recognized by AICTE [All India Council of Technical Education] while the Architecture program is recognized by the Council of Architecture. SMVDU logo is designed like a Lotus, a symbol of regeneration or a flame.  SMVDU offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes, including BTech, BArch, BA, MA, MSc, MTech, and MBA. The university also offers a five-year Integrated MSc Economics course and a PhD in Economics, and the School of Philosophy & Culture and the School of Language & Literature are part of the Humanities & Social Science faculty.

SMVDU Admission

SMVDU Admission 2022-23 is ongoing for UG courses. Admission to SMVDU UG courses will be based on CUET UG results. The CUET UG 2022 result is now available. SMVDU offers courses including BTech, BArch, BA, MA, MSc, MTech, and MBA. SMVDU also offers a five-year Integrated MSc Economics course and a Ph.D. in Economics, and the faculty of Humanities & Social Science includes the Schools of Philosophy & Culture and Language & Literature. 

SMVDU Eligibility Criteria

SMVDU admits students who meet the prerequisites set by SMVDU. Students seeking admission to SMVDU must meet the required criteria. Some of the eligibility criteria for SMVDU courses are listed below.

B.Tech/ B.Arch Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must have completed 10+2 level of education/ equivalent qualifying exam with a minimum of 60% aggregate

M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must have completed B.E/ B.Tech or Equivalent degree with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate should have obtained a Master's Degree in the relevant domain.
• Candidate should have secured 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

SMVDU University, Katra has a land of 470 acres on which there is a well-built SMVDU campus fulfilling all the requirements. SMVDU Infrastructure Facilities provide bus facilities for the students from campus to/from the hostel for the convenience of the students. Special bus facilities for the faculty & staff members and their families are provided every Saturday from campus to Jammu and back.  SMVDU Medical Aid Centre provides services to all the students of the University. Facilities provided by Medical Aid Centre include OPD, Dental Unit, Ambulance Service, etc. SMVDU guesthouse facility is available with 15 rooms and 4 suites to accommodate guests. SMVDU Faculty

SMVDU Faculty members are extremely helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. SMVDU has 120+ faculty members. The best part about SMVDU is that students can contact faculty members 24 hours a day, seven days a week because both students and teachers live on the same campus. SMVDU students can easily clear their doubts and interact with them in both formal and informal settings. SMVDU's teaching methods are both advanced and friendly. Each SMVDU faculty member is assigned five students, and the faculty member serves as a mentor for all those 5 students, with whom the students can discuss personal and professional problems and situations.
