LIBRARY

Library has personal computers with internet & Wi-Fi to access worldwide literature & databases. Library has 3396 books written by Foreign & Indian authors costing around Rs. 29, 12666.76. The library has 6 international & 28 national periodicals with expenditure around Rs.8, 50,000.

For general reading, library has 5 magazines & 7 daily newspapers in English & local languages. In an addition to this library also has a facility for interlibrary loan, Photocopying, Book Bank facility, References services, Digital Library etc.

LABORATORIES

Computer Lab

A well-equipped modern computer laboratory with AMD processor, WINDOWS 8.1 pro and Linux operating systems and IBM System x3500 Server, scanners, laser and printers and internet facility with 45Mbps lease line. We have modeling software as HYPERCHEM, Modeller, MOE, V-LifeMDS drug discovery software for Bioinformatics. Several other public domain software as RasMol, Pymol, Arguslab, ISIS draw etc are also available. In addition to this we have several indigenous programs for drug designing. In addition to this the overall understanding of software languages like C, C++, Java, VB, Sql server etc. make the student a complete power packet professional.

Wet Laboratories

Wet labs have facilities for Biochemical and cell Biology work, animal & plant tissue culture. These are equipped with: refrigerators, autoclaves, incubators (BOD), centrifuges, spectrophotometer, laminar flows (horizontal and vertical) plant growth chambers etc. More labs are coming in new building whose construction will be completed by the end of the year 2006. This would double the laboratory space with the addition of microbiology, animal and plant tissue culture, radioactivity, industrial Biotechnology and a post graduate laboratories in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. These would house several high-tech instruments as PCR, HPLC high-speed centrifuge, freeze drying, ultra-filtration unit, UV trans-illuminator and water purifying system and biomolecular modeling software and drug designing software. In addition, there would be an animal house for experimental animals and a green house.

CLASSROOMS

Lecture halls with sitting capacity for 80 students are equipped with LCD and overhead projection and public address systems.

HOSTEL

Separate hostels for women students are available by the Institute. As the accommodation in the hostels is limited, admission into the college does not confer the right to a seat in the hostel. Admission rules of the hostels may be obtained from the Hostel Office.
