No, I have not done any kind of internship yet due to covid 19. I was in my second year of engineering and the lock down happened. As I am from civil engineering it is not possible to do internship on online mode as most of the times we have to work on sites.
Many companies visit our college capgemini, congnizant, Wipro, TCS, Adani, Worely, infosys,etc. Avg package was around 3.5 to 5 lakh.. But these year highest package was secured by pragati sharma of 25 lakh. Yes, our college have alumni meet on regular basis.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
According to my college, admissions are taken on the basis of merit. We have to take the state entrance exam named as CET exam of maharastra after 12th board exam and then merit list is published. Then if we are eligible for the course we get admission. Yes, I took the entrance MHTCET (state maharastra) and I had secured good marks and I was eligible for the course of civil engineering in 1st round. This year we have percentile scheme.. And cutoff of my college was 98 percentile for IT and 90 to 95 percentile of civil and other branches.
Fees & Scholarships :
The Government College of Engineering, [GCEK] Satara fee structure. My course fee is 43000. We are applicable for government scholarship of post matric and many students get that. Yes, some time loans are needed. We take loan from the central bank of India.
Academics & Faculty :
Before pandemic we had our lectures from 10 to 5. 4 hrs of lec and 2 hr practical daily. Our college conducts 2 CT (class test) 1 and CT2 of 30 marks and ESE of 60 marks and 10 marks for continuous assessment. For continuous assessment we are given assignments to solve.
Further, each CT mark is converted into 15 marks. The quality of education and teaching methods are good most of the time teachers have a practical approach. My overall experience is very good for my college.. We have various clubs and extra curricular activities to do, we have a social welfare club of NSS. We have a good lab and a good quality teaching staff.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
We have 2 girls Hostel 1 for btec girls and the other for direct second yr and Mtech. 4 boys hostels. Our hostel cost around 500 to 600 per month. Maybe 1 or 2 are available and they cost 2000 per month. The quality of food provided by the college is very good, it costs around 30 rps per meal. The quality of classroom are best and we also have smart boards. The library is very big and comfortable. Dinning Hall is also good. We have WiFi facility for our college as well as for our hostels. Overall infrastructure is good
Clubs & Associations :
We have many clubs namely dice club, cell, yoga, robotics, aerobics etc. Our college also arranges TED talks every year. We have a state level event called Avishkar in which every department carries their own events and other college students participation is also allowed. We have 2 days saree day/tie day and traditional day.
We have sports days for about 1 and half months and various sports are included. We also have a cultural program of 2days. Overall, college life is good.. We come around to various new opportunities to improve ourselves
