Government Medical College and Hospital was established in 1991. The foundation stone of the college was laid by the former prime minister Shri Chandra Shekhar on 20th January 1991. During 25 years, the college achieved so many milestones like It is been ranked consistently among the top 25 medical institutions in India. It offers MD, MS, MBBS courses. It is affiliated with Panjab University.
The criteria for Government Medical College and Hospital admission 2024 is to be passed in 10 + 2 From schools or Colleges approved by Chandigarh Administration and situated in Chandigarh. For PG courses the eligibility is to have a bachelor’s degree in a medical field.

The result of GCET was declared on 16th July.
For MBBS the college accepts scores of NEET(UG) and MD, MS accepts scores of NEET (PG). The admission is based on the merit list produced by the entrance exams.
The First Year of MD/MS Fee Structure is INR 22,000. The Annual Fee for B.Sc course is INR 9500. And the Government Medical College and Hospital fee structure for B.Sc course for reserved category is INR 9000.
