Established in 2003, Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) has rapidly become a leading institution in legal education in India, known for its academic excellence and strong impact on the legal community. Named after Justice Mohammed Hidayatullah, the university was founded by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the HNLU Act, 2003.
As the sixth National Law School in India, HNLU is recognized by the UGC under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956, and by the Bar Council of India under the Advocates Act, 1961.
