Placements & Internships : I did an internship in couple of places. There are tons of opportunities to for Internships. A lot of media companies did hire including Times, NDTV, MTV, Balaji Telefilms, etc. A lot of my batchmates went on to become movie directors. Although they have a good amount of internships, the placement for jobs per say has not been good. For those who have been placed they get an avergae salary of 4 to 7 lakhs per annum. The alumini network is okay, it's nothing awesome. We sometimes have older people coming in to teach but then again it's once in a bluemoon.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for this course (Masters in Media and Communication) was that you needed to have a minimum aggregate of 70% in all of your subjects in your Bachelor's degree and your 12th standard. The typical cut off was 66% and there was no entrance examination at the time of my joining but I believe they were planning of coming up with one.
Fees & Scholarships : Fees for MAJM course was around 3 lakhs. There are no scolarships available for this course and generally the crowd who comes here don't take loans.
Academics & Faculty : The class timings were from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with 2 breaks in between. We had projects such as making films, creating college magazines, etc. The quality of the teaching is standard, they have presentations and workshops to explain the topic to us. We had an option of choosing what to study, the faculty was pretty decent.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are 3 hostels for both boys and girls, I am not sure of the hostel fees. Outside the college there are tons of options for staying around. It is an area that is coming up, although there isn't enough nightlife places around you will find some pretty decent eatries around. The college food was good in the initial year i joined but then it became bad as the time progressed. They have chinese, indian and other snack type of food available there. The classrooms are pretty decent and airy, the computer lab is mediocre at best, I mean yes it's air conditioned but i'm talking about the systems themselves. Wifi is available all around the campus, they have a Basketball court, swimming pool, gym, pool table and other essential amenities that are required.
Clubs & Associations : There was a theatre group and there are other such clubs which keep forming from time to time. Creazi was one festival which had some famous bands performing. But there are other events as well which generally attract a lot of kids from other colleges. The college life was chilled out not much stress and a lot of activities.
