The Institute of Hotel Management, Bangalore, is ranked one among the best in the country. Set amidst a well-spaced and lush green Government campus, the institute is synonymous with Quality in hospitality education. From its humble beginning as a Food Craft Institute in1969, offering short term courses, the College was rechristened to its present name in1983 and commenced offering the 3 Year Degree in Hotel & Hospitality Administration. The IHM Bangalore is widely regarded as one of the premier institutes in the country to equip aspirants to the hospitality service.

IHM Bangalore Infrastructure Facilities

The institute provides many facilities to the students. Details of the Institute of Hotel Management Bangalore infrastructure is given below.

Restaurant: There are two well equipped 40 seater training restaurants.

Laundry: IHM Bangalore has a well-equipped automated laundry along with facilities for training students in guestroom management.

Computer Lab: The lab is equipped with 30 terminals on a Local Area Network with the latest multi-media systems with internet connectivity. Students have hands-on experience with HMS and application packages.

Library: The Institute has a well-stocked library with the latest books, periodicals, journals, both national and international, covering all aspects of Hotel, Tourism, Hospitality, Travel and Management. The IHM Bangalore library also has a good collection of Videotapes on all aspects of management and hotelier, which the students could view. The Library has multi-media resources enabling students to access the Internet, and students are encouraged to use free E-mail facilities.

Video Production Lab: The Institute has a video production lab equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to produce training films. Students are also encouraged to produce training films as part of their projects during the Final Year of study.

Front Office: Role playing, Situation Handling, Other Front Office related exercises, Property Management Systems, accounting are the key areas of training in this lab.

Food Production Lab: All the food production labs are fully equipped with indigenous and imported equipment.
