Training & Placement Cell
The TPC conducts programmes related to Training of students to their placements. It also brings companies to the campus and takes the college to the companies. It organizes sessions to help the students write their prelims test and attend interviews at the corporates.
Campus Recruitment Training
In an ever changing world economy, we need special skills and qualities to succeed. Employers hire people who are independent, creative and effective. This is an essential part of learning experience. Placement support cell uses a variety of teaching and assessment methods to encourage independence as well as mastery of the subject.
The key to CRT is focus and hard work. This requires through awareness of the different stages of selection. A self-evaluation to identify one’s strong and weak areas followed by efforts to strengthen the former and to eliminate the latter, would be a long way in ensuring success.
The selection process in the companies could be a combination of Aptitude (general & technical) tests, group discussion and presentation followed by personal interviews. The CRT covers the following areas over a period of three years starting from IInd year.
Finally, through knowledge, excellent skills and the burning desire to succeed are the keys to “SUCCESS”.
Achievements
Keeping in view the various modes of selection in the companies, the placement cell has planned its training schedule well in advance from II year I semester onwards, so as to make sure that each and every student of Islamia must turn out to be excellent and efficient engineer. Conducted Personality Development Workshop for 1st year students by Aura Leadership Foundation, an international training organization from Hyderabad.
Invited people from Industry like Infosys, Wipro and Medha Servo to interact with students and expose them to the industry - oriented workshops. Students were taken to industrial visits viz., Infyosys Technologies, Pete Transformers etc, in the year 2008-09 and planning many more in the year 2009-10.
Industrial Training and Projects
The students are encouraged to get industrial training during winter and summer holidays and do their final year projects in industries to get exposure to the industrial environment and get the confidence desirable.
