Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, [JNAFAU] Hyderabad has a rich educational history that spans over 78 years. The Institute was established in the pre-independence era. In 1972, it became a part of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. When the University bifurcated under Andhra Pradesh Legislature Act No.31 of 2008, it became Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University. The management believes that the University has a strong potential to emerge as a Centre of Excellence.

Arts and Architecture education is very relevant in India. The Institute provides education in the areas of Arts and Architecture. The University puts special focus on sustainability and increased awareness of contemporary issues like energy, sustainability, and heritage. JNAFAU faculty are highly experienced. JNAFAU courses and syllabus are meticulously planned and up-to-date. Two Colleges are functioning under the umbrella of Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University. Industrial Consultancy Services (ICS) Cells are functioning actively in both the Colleges; College of Fine Arts and School of Planning & Architecture. ICS undertake several consultancy works from the private sector, public sector, Government and quasi-governmental agencies. 

Several colleges are affiliated to this University. The University has also signed a lot of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with many prominent institutions. JNAFAU has a strong Research and Development Cell which prepares guidelines for Doctoral Research Work and regulates interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary Research undertaken in the University. Many companies visit the University campus every year for JNAFAU placements.
