I am in 2nd so I haven't got any internships yet but I have the chance to get one after completion of my 2nd year. Many companies come with great offers of internships in our college, like Siemens, Samsung, Oracle, Microsoft, Amazon, etc. I am in Electrical Engineering so I can tell you more about my branch rather than others. The placement scenario of our branch has been pretty good in the past 2 years and it will be on the rises. We have got many PWC companies offering jobs for consultancies. Companies like Goldman Sachs also come here. This year some PSU also came to our college. The average salary has been 6.5 lakhs LPA and the maximum being 32lakhs. The percentage placement is around 86%. The alumni network of our University is remarkable. We get help from our seniors from everywhere and they help us in, however, way they can.

Most of the colleges of West Bengal come under the WBJEE board. I am in Electrical Engineering, Jadavpur University for a rank of 448 in WBJEE in the year of 2016. The competition is increasing year by year you should give your very best.
Fees & Scholarships :
The course fee is not an issue at Jadavpur University. It's the best thing of all. For 2 years the fee is ₹5000/- and at the time of admission, we have to pay ₹700/- as admission fee and other miscellaneous. Though having such a low fee we have scholarship option here which is for the economically deprived and are residents of West Bengal. Not a lot of students get the scholarship. In my batch, only 6 students got the scholarship out of 77. Being such an economical college I don't think you need to have any kind of loans.
Academics & Faculty :
The classes start from 10 am till 5:30 pm with a break of half hour from 2 pm-2: 30 pm. Your assignments will be according to the labs you do and you have to submit according to the professor taking the lab. You will have help from the lab assistants for the lab work. Most of the teachers are PHDs from the University itself. They are excellent in their areas of expertise but you may get some of the University scholars as your mentors in your first year, bear with them as they are also knowledgeable and can teach you a good deed. The overall experience is that Jadavpur University is a full package. With all the students and profs we are a big and prosperous family and we love studying here. It has a good ambiance to it and everyone is very helpful here.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
The hostel is for the economically deprived and so the fees are not the for the matter of discussion. There is 1 hostel inside the main branch, 1 at a 5 min distance from the main branch and 1 in the Salt Lake branch. There are a lot of options for students of Jadavpur. Most of us live outside the university premises. You can opt for a flat with other mates and also look for a PG nearby. The cost is not much around here. I give a rent of 2400 per person for a 2bhk flat with 3 of my other mates. The PGs are a little at the lower end. The food of the college is good and the canteens are well maintained. If you want to know about per meal cost then for a vegetarian it would not cost more than ₹40 per meal and for a non-vegetarian ₹50 per meal. The classrooms are not the best of it. We have WiFi at our university which is good enough. The libraries are awesome. We have a central library and 16 other libraries department wise. The infrastructure is not very overwhelming but it is nice. We have a huge playground and a cricket ground (in the Salt Lake branch). We have basketball, volleyball and tennis court. We also have an area to play badminton.
Clubs & Associations :
JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY has a lot to explore and we have a large number of clubs to do so. We have clubs of mountaineering, photography, science, coding, drama, robotics, music and what not. The main festivals are Sankriti and U-turn as our cultural festival. The tech fest is Srijan. The sports festivals are Arena and PardorSHE. We also have events of respective branches, like convolution of electrical, a trajectory of mechanical, Triathalon of chemical. We also have alumni meet of respective branches. These all are organized every year. The life in JADAVPUR is of fun and prosperity. We enjoy studying here and we also hang out at the campus for however long we can. We also have late night guitar sessions in the garden area. It is very fun to be a part of Jadavpur University.
