Jamal Mohamed College was established in the year 1951. It is a religious minority institution founded by Janab M. Jamal Mohamed Sahid and Janab N.M. Khajamian Rowther. The college is affiliated to the Bharathidasan University. The institute is under the administration of the Society of Jamal Mohamed College. The college has a sprawling land area of 87 acres. The college is a symbol of the revered memory of  Hajee M. Jamal Mohamed Sahib and Janab N.M. Khajamian Rowther who were the founding fathers of the institution.

In 2004 the college was conferred the autonomous status by UGC and the Government of Tamil Nadu. The college is accredited by NAAC with a 5-star level status and was re-accredited with 'A' grade status even in the third cycle of accreditation in 2015. Jamal Mohamed College Facilities:

Needful facilities are available on the campus for the students. The institution is always aware of the basic needs of the students, so year by year the management is improving the facilities of the campus according to the wants and needs.

The college has a library with thousands of books and journals and research materials that are very helpful for reference and casual reading purposes and the library have many E-resources as well. The classrooms of the college are smart classrooms with projectors for presentations  The computer center of the campus contains a good number of computers with updated software and CDs.  The college auditorium has a good intake capacity, where it is the venue for most of the events and programs. AC Seminar halls and conference hall of the campus conduct meeting and seminar presentations. The multi-purpose indoor stadium of the campus conducts programs and events 

The cafeteria on the college campus provides healthy delicious food and drinks to the students and the campus has a Co-operative store as well, with the help of a biogas plant the canteen is more eco-friendly. The photocopying center and Stationery store on the campus will take care of the supply of necessary study-related accessories and materials for the students. The college has a bank within its premises, it's a branch of Karur Vysya Bank where students will find it easy to conduct the relevant banking transactions, within the college itself. The institute also has a Communication Lab and Day-care center. The college campus is Wifi enabled with high internet speed. Hostel facilities are available for scholars with needful facilities. Transportation facilities are available for students, for that enough college buses are there on the campus. For prayers, there is a prayer hall and a mosque on the campus so that the students can spend some time finding more peace and close to beliefs.

For making the students more active and to prepare them to be good citizens for the society, there are many clubs and organization are formed within the campus. Under these clubs and organizations, many activities and programs take place on the campus and outside the campus every year under the leadership of the various clubs and organizations. Active student participation in clubs will teach the students about the importance of teamwork and leadership qualities. Jamal Mohamed College Activities:

Many activities are there on the institution which takes place on the campus every year. Some activities are led by different clubs and organizations and others as well.

The National Cadet Corps of the campus is so strong that it inculcates the youth the sense of nationalism and a more secular outlook that contributes to building the nation more powerful. the NCC also provides a platform for the upliftment of individuals through a process of directing the energy of the youth in constructive pursuits. Many opportunities are provided for the cadets to be a part of different events including camps and special training. The National Service Scheme of the campus is also an active forum, where students are said to be part of many programs and camps and the students point of view about the society and considering the fellow human beings will change by understanding what's going on the society by taking part in many of the activities. Students will receive an NSS certificate as well for their service.

JAMCROP (Jamal Mohamed College Reach Out Programme) is a College out-reach program launched during the year 2007 by JMC for the students. JAMCORP is mainly aimed to provide urban facilities in rural villages. The college has even adopted three villages for the JAMCORP program and they are, Poonampalayam, Inamkulathur, and Irungalur were these villages are regularly taken care of by the institution.

Under the JAMCORP program, each student should have to spend 10 hours per semester during the first year in theses adopted villages and participate in certain activities identified for each of the departments for analyzing the integrated growth of the village. Grades are awarded for the students for their participation and involvement.

Many other activities such as Arts, Sports, and cultural programs are also there on the campus. The sports events ensure good health, fitness for the students and gently they become even more mentally fit as well. There are sports activities such as cricket, football, volleyball, kabaddi, Badminton,  Athletics, etc.

Jamal Mohamed College Placements:

The placement cell of the college is operated by dedicated faculty members. Necessary training and instructions are given to the students by the faculty in soft-skills for campus interviews and aptitude tests. The placement cell keeps a good relationship with many of the frontline companies in the business world, as a result, the campus is frequently visited by local recruiting agencies and a few international agencies. Jamal Mohamed College Placement is a better guide for students to grab the best offer and students will be trained to gain more negotiation skills as well.

Jamal Mohamed College Admissions:

Admissions to the college will be focused on merit. Candidates can apply online and offline for admissions, for that they can avail the application forms from the college counter or can download the application form online on the official website of the college. Students have to pay the application fees for courses while applying. The application fee for UG and PG will be different. Students can pay application and registration fee through internet banking/ credit/ debit card. Students are required to submit all the original documents at the time of admissions. Students who belong to the minority category should have to submit the valid proofs for admission.

Jamal Mohamed College Cut Off:

Students are selected based on the cut-off process which has been instructed by the university and according to the norms and rules. Students are sorted based on cut-off scores and are selected according to the marks. For Jamal Mohamed College Cut Off, the marks earned by the students in their previous academic programs are being considered. Postgraduate programs such as MBA, MCA, etc. the mark scored by the students in their relative eligibility tests is also being considered. For certain programs like MBA students have to attend an interview and a group discussion for getting the admission, hence the marks from these two are also taken into account for determining the cut-off.

Students who belong to the minority category such as SC/ ST, OBC, etc. will get a concession in their cut-off scores, so they have to submit the relevant documents along with the other certificates for the proof while applying online.

Jamal Mohamed College Hostel Details:

JMC offers hostel facility for students. Hostels are separate for men and women. The men's hostel has 8 blocks and can accommodate 2200 students and the women's hostel can accommodate up to 1180 students, along with the UGC-Women's hostel can accommodate another 102 students.  The men's hostel has 6-messes, each with a dining hall, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines are served. Jamal Mohamed College Facilities provide all the basic requirements to the hostels including a library, access to television, prayer hall, auditorium, guest-house, cyber-center, canteen, water coolers, power-back-up, public address system, bank, sanitary disposal waste plant, biogas, and a playground.
