Placements & Internships : I havent applied for any internships but completed one training at ASTC(ASSAM STATE TRANSPORT CORPORATION). Placement depends upon every year. Many IT companies visit on a particular year while in the next year , some CORE companies visit this college. Overall placement is good. Average salary varies from 3-5 Lakhs. I will give 8 out of 10 for this college.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : To get admission to this college , you first have to qualify for CEE(COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION), ASSAM. After clearing CEE, you will have to visit AEC(ASSAM ENGINEERING COLLEGE), where admission takes place for various colleges, including government colleges also. After that you will have to visit JEC for the admission process to be completed.

Fees & Scholarships : My course is around Rs. 2500 per year. There are mainly two types of scholarships available to JEC students. Namely- NEC AND ISHAN UDAY , both provided by AICTE. Almost everyone, who apply for NEC scholarship avail after 7-8 months but ISHANUDAY is for a limited number of students whose family annual income is below 4.1 Lakhs.

Academics & Faculty : Classes start from 7:30 am in the morning and ends at 4:30 in the evening. We get 2 times break, one from 9:30 to 10:00 am, called Tea Break and other from 12:00 to 1:30pm, called Lunch Break. Most of the time Professors speak in English but sometimes they use their native language (i.e. Assamese).Overall quality is good. Being a second year student, i have a wonderful experience in this college.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : JEC has a total of 10 hostels, 8 for Boys and 2 for Girls. Hostel fee ranges from 1000 to 2000. PGs are also available outside the college and rent varies from 2000 to 7500 , depending on their quality. Quality of hostel food is below average , but there are many shops outside the college , offering fast food and also home made food. Infrastructure is quite satisfactory with limited free wifi inside the classroom. Quality of classroom is quite good.

Clubs & Associations : There are diffent student clubs available in this college, like Literary Bout, Avant Garde, etc. Our main cultural festival is 'PHEONIX' which is celebrated in the month of February or March. It includes tech fest also. Life is awesome @ JEC. You will be exposed to new atmosphere , learn new languages and participate in many competitions.
