Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University Act was published under the Government Gazette on March 2003. Education is the basic requirement for the development of any region. The Government of Gujarat has taken a commendable decision to provide a separate University for the region of Kachchh to fulfill the demand of the people of Kachchh. 

Kachchh University has its logo symbolizing the distinct regional biodiversity. In 2004 university foundation stone was laid and came into run of progress. Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University has started its administrative and academic activity at the new developing campus from the academic year 2007-2008. University is assigned under UGC act.

Gujarat government was handling more than 10 colleges in Kachchh, in 2004 government-affiliated all the colleges to Kachchh University. Recently university is having 28 colleges with more than 15000 students and nearly 200 teachers working in the faculties of arts, commerce, science, education, law, technology including engineering and pharmacy. The University is providing higher education as per any other university of the state and India.

University has started its administrative and academic activity at the new developing campus from the academic year 2007-2008. The Construction work for the administrative blocks, four faculty blocks, Library, Computer Building, Guest House, Boys & Girls Hostel, with the budget estimates 35 crores funded by Gujarat State.

University's main aim is to provide successful leadership by imparting quality and socially relevant knowledge with higher education and to promote various education programmers with the interaction of society and industry. To contribute to the advancement of knowledge and understanding through research, publication, and dissemination.

Special facilities are given to SC/ST students, in hostel as well as academic field. The admission process also differs in the case of SC/ST students. SC/ST candidates are having lesser cutoffs. Apart from teaching, the faculty members undertake several sponsored research programs and consultative assignments.

University is having a various number of affiliated colleges running under it. Kachchh University affiliated colleges are more in number like Sri R. R Lalaln College of Science and Arts, Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences, Smt HB Palan College of Arts, Commerce, Gandhidham Maitri Mandal Sanchalit Dada Dukhayal College of Education, Government Science College, Government Arts, and Commerce College, etc.

University is landed over 35 acres of land. University provides sports club for each sport, which include chess, badminton, cricket, football, long jump practice ground, track for athletes and more such clubs are there to help students.

University has a huge based library to support the academic and research needs of students, researchers, faculty and staff. Library is committed to providing quality Library and Information Service to all Users. University aims to help prepare every student to achieve their personal and professional goals through higher education. University also provides health and medical care facilities to their students. University provides scholarships for students as per UGC & State Government norms. Computer workstations are found in the browsing center located on the first floor. All the computers have a fast internet connection.

University has free wifi facilities on campus. College has well maintained Digital Auditorium with multiple speakers, with superior quality, LED and proper stage facilities. University also provide special lectures to every students by eminent academicians, Jurist, Lawyers and many other big member from Law.

University has hostels facilities also. University has different clubs like Women Development Cell, Research Development Cell, Inter Quality Assurance Cell, Carrier Counselling, and Development Cell. University is also providing transport facilities.

NSS program is organized as regular activities as well as special camps, Blood Donation camps, and Medical Camps. Orientation course was organized for the first time in the university under supervision. Community services rendered by university-level students have covered several aspects like adoption of villages for intensive development work, mass tree plantation, technology transfer programs, technologies for rural development, various technical training programs for self-help groups and rural youth, etc. University's NSS activities are co-ordinated by NSS Advisory Committee.

University not only focuses on academic culture but beyond that university is trying to focus on extracurricular activities also. The University is organizing the youth culture and sports activities to encourage the students and providing them a platform, more than 500 students participated in the Inter-University Culture and sports activities organized by AIU [Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi]. In the year 2005-2006, the student of the affiliated college secured second position in the "Collage Painting" of the youth festival in the west zone inter-university tournament.

Similarly, a student of affiliated college secured third position in "Mimicry" event in the youth festival in the west zone inter-university tournament in the year 2007-2008.

The Placement, Training and Research Guidance Centre has been initiated in University. Placement cell holds a good position under recruiting more number of students. Kachchh University Admissions:

Admissions can be done online through the official website of the college. Candidates can also visit campus directly for offline admission process. Admissions are done on both reservation-based as well as through merit list.

For Undergraduate:

University select candidates for undergraduates based on marks obtained in 10+2 examination. The selected candidates are called for personal interview. After that shortlisted candidates are called for admission.
