Overview

The Government of Gujarat established Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University in 2003 to meet the region's educational needs. Initially affiliated with Gujarat University, all ten colleges in the Kachchh district transitioned to this university in 2004. Named after freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Verma from Mandvi, Kachchh, the university was recognized under UGC 2(f) in 2004.

Construction of its campus, including administrative blocks, faculty buildings, a library, computer center, guest house, and hostels for boys and girls, began in 2004 with a budget of ₹35 crores. Academic operations shifted to this new campus in 2007-08.

Starting with 10 colleges, the university now has 28 affiliated colleges, over 15,000 students, and nearly 200 faculty members across disciplines like Arts, Commerce, Science, Education, Law, Technology, Engineering, and Pharmacy. It ensures educational quality comparable to top universities in India.

The university actively promotes student engagement through cultural and sports events, with more than 500 students participating in inter-university competitions hosted by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Notable achievements include students winning accolades in events like collage painting (2005-06) and mimicry (2007-08) at West Zone inter-university youth festivals.

Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University admits students to UG and PG programs through entrance exams like CAT, CMAT, and ACPC. University is landed over 35 acres of land. University provides sports club for each sport, which include chess, badminton, cricket, football, long jump practice ground, track for athletes and more such clubs are there to help students.

Library is committed to providing quality Library and Information Service to all Users. University aims to help prepare every student to achieve their personal and professional goals through higher education. University also provides health and medical care facilities to their students. University provides scholarships for students as per UGC & State Government norms. Computer workstations are found in the browsing center located on the first floor. All the computers have a fast internet connection.

University has free wifi facilities on campus. College has well maintained Digital Auditorium with multiple speakers, with superior quality, LED and proper stage facilities. University also provide special lectures to every students by eminent academicians, Jurist, Lawyers and many other big member from Law.

University has hostels facilities also. University has different clubs like Women Development Cell, Research Development Cell, Inter Quality Assurance Cell, Carrier Counselling, and Development Cell. University is also providing transport facilities.

NSS program is organized as regular activities as well as special camps, Blood Donation camps, and Medical Camps. Orientation course was organized for the first time in the university under supervision. Community services rendered by university-level students have covered several aspects like adoption of villages for intensive development work, mass tree plantation, technology transfer programs, technologies for rural development, various technical training programs for self-help groups and rural youth, etc. University's NSS activities are co-ordinated by NSS Advisory Committee.

University not only focuses on academic culture but beyond that university is trying to focus on extracurricular activities also. The University is organizing the youth culture and sports activities to encourage the students and providing them a platform, more than 500 students participated in the Inter-University Culture and sports activities organized by AIU [Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi]. In the year 2005-2006, the student of the affiliated college secured second position in the "Collage Painting" of the youth festival in the west zone inter-university tournament.

Similarly, a student of affiliated college secured third position in "Mimicry" event in the youth festival in the west zone inter-university tournament in the year 2007-2008.
