Lala Lajpat Rai College of Commerce & Economics is considered one of the oldest educational institutions located in the city of Mumbai. It is accredited ‘A’ Grade by NAAC and has an affiliation with Mumbai University. LLRCCE offers undergraduate courses in B.Com, BMS, BMM, BAF, BBI and B.Sc (IT) and postgraduate courses of M.Com. At the research level, the college offers a Ph.D. in Commerce. The admission norms and eligibility are as per the norms established by Mumbai University. The vision of the college is to provide comprehensive education which will train our students to be globally competitive and socially responsible citizens. At the undergraduate level, the college offers courses of Bachelor’s of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor’s of Mass Media, B.Sc in Information Technology and B.Com (offered in three specializations) and B.Com Admissions to these courses will be done strictly on the merit of qualifying examination in class XIIth. To be eligible they should’ve completed their class XIIth in any stream by securing a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.

Candidates satisfying the eligibility conditions given below as on the last date of submission of application are eligible to apply. Passing the qualifying examination after the last date of submission of the application shall not be considered. The admission fee for all the programs is as per the Mumbai University norms. All eligible and interested candidates are required to apply through Mumbai University Admission Portal and submit the same in the institute. The applications received are scrutinized and verified, based on which admissions are allotted. The minimum eligible marks are relaxed by 5% for reserved category candidates.

For candidates interested in research studies, the college offers a Ph.D. program in Commerce and related specializations. The selection of candidates will be based on PET scores and performance in personal interviews. To apply for the program, candidates must have obtained a Master's degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university. Also, those candidates who have passed Master’s Degree by Research or M.Phil degree of Mumbai University or any other recognized University are eligible too. Teachers having a minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience can apply as well.

NET/ SET/ GATE/ JRF qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the program and their selection would be based on the personal interview by the concerned Research Department of the Mumbai University. Graduates of Mumbai University or any other recognized University who are working in National Laboratories/ Institutes/ Government/ Private Organization, nominated/ sponsored by the respective employer are also held eligible. The selection process is Group Discussion and personal interview. Ph.D. candidates are required to collect the application form from college on cash payment and submit the same personally. The eligibility for a Ph.D. is a master's degree in a relevant subject from Mumbai University or any other recognized University.
