Madhav Institute of Technology & Science popularly known as MITS, Gwalior was established in 1957 at Gwalior. It was established by Sir Jiwaji Rao Scindia, Maharaja under the open door policy of Govt. of India. The foundation stone was laid by the then President Dr. Rajendra Prasad, on 20th October 1956 and inaugurated by President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on 11th December 1964.

The institute has also celebrated its Diamond Jubilee in 2017. In 2008, Dr. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil graced the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the institute as Chief Guest. MITS is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal. In 2017, the institute was granted autonomy by UGC, New Delhi for 6 years. This institute is accredited by the NBA(National Board of Accreditation) & NAAC for 5 years from September 2017. The institute provides various programs like UG, PG, and doctoral.

The institute has over 60 different student clubs in the fields of technology, music, dance, yoga, social awareness, etc. It also has a very active NSS and NCC wing. On 30th October 2017, NPTEL was established to provide e-learning to students in Science, Engineering, and Technology. In 1998, the institute established an Entrepreneurship Development Cell which is active throughout the year. MITS Gwalior B.Tech/BE Eligibility

• Candidates should have ranked in the JEE MAINS conducted at the All India level by CBSE.
• The candidate should have cleared 10+2 grade with Physics and Maths as main subjects and any 1 subject from Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Professional.

MITS Gwalior MCA Eligibility

• The candidate should have scored at least 50% marks in the graduation.
• For SC/ ST/ OBC category, the candidate should have scored a minimum mark of 45%.
• The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Maths at +2 level.

MITS Gwalior ME/M.Tech Eligibility

• The candidate must have a degree in BE with a minimum of 55% marks
