Library

The library provides a peaceful atmosphere to update the knowledge of the students and the faculty members. The library is fully computerized, automated, well furnished and spacious reading halls with more than 8,200 Volumes of books, 100 national and international Journals and Periodicals. The library is using Campeslib OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), the users can search the Library Online Catalogue by Author's name, title, subject, and keywords available on the campus LAN.The library has the on-line access facility, audio, video facilities CD ROM's and Repographic facilities.

Internet Service

16 terminals are available for the users to browse the internet through 1 Mbps Broadband connectivity.

Current Awareness Service(CAS)

This service provides the latest information to users in the area of Science and Technology and Engineering on demand.

Electronic Library

The collection consists of CD-ROMs, Pen drives, Zip drives and AV materials including a collection of video courses. A large number of video courses produced by various IIT's and NIT's are made available to the users to gain the knowledge through the expert lectures in the concerned subjects.

Reference Service

Reference section includes the following sources of Information to attain the knowledge in current as well as Engineering and Technology field.

This centre, the most frequently used in the College, has 120 Nodes & 2 High End Servers.

The 2 HP ML 150 G3 E5310 Sata SERVERS with Configuration of Intel Quade-core xeon Processor @1.60 GHz, 1066 FSB, 80W, Integrated 2*4MB L2 Cache, 1 GB DDR2, 250 GB HDD, DVD R/W, 17" TFT MONITOR.

The 120 HP Nodes with configuration of Intel Core 2 Duo Processor @2.39 GHz, 667 MHz, 160 GB Sata HDD, 1 GB RAM, DVD ROM DRIVE, 17" TFT MONITOR.

Internet Lab

Internet lab with dedicated server, 60 nodes and dedicates 1Mbps broadband RF connectivity to provide the necessary links, caters to the need of the students.

Hostel

Separate Hi-Tech hostel facilities are available for boys and girls. The hostel provides accommodation for all the needy students. The rooms are furnished with table, chair, cot and fan. The Hostel is managed by a committee consisting of:

The aim of the hostel is to provide a conducive and healthy learning atmosphere for students and to foster the principles of community living for the development of a healthy personality. Together with hard work and sincerity, the hosteller has the possibility of developing himself into an integrated person. The earnest and whole hearted co-operation is expected from the students, parents and guardian towards making the hostel a homely, enjoyable and useful place to stay.

Accommodation

A spacious room on a triple sharing basis is provided for accommodation with common washroom facilities. Each student is provided with a cot, a study table, a chair and individual shelves. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food prepared under hygienic conditions is provided in the hostel.

Recreation

Students are strongly urged to engage themselves in physical exercise during the evenings. Any form of healthy game, preferably outdoor games, may be played for at least an hour.

Reading room

Students would do well to cultivate the habit of reading newspapers, magazines, and keep themselves up to date on current topics. Newspapers are available on the table for reading at any time.

Water & Power supply

24 hours water supply and mineral drinking water also provided. A 25 KVA genset is kept as a standby to provide uninterrupted power supply in case of power cuts. 

Medical Center

Maha Barathi Engineering College has a full fledged dispensary functioning from morning 11.00 a.m to 1.00 p.m and in the evening from 4.30 p.m to 6.00 p.m. This dispensary is headed by the Part-time Dr. J.Kalaivani, M.B.B.S., with one pharmacist. More than 200 students and staff members are benefited by this facility per month. The college spends about Rs. 1 lakhs per annum towards medicine and maintenance.

All the students and staff enjoy free medical service at the dispensary. All the medicines needed for general problems are available at free of cost.

Canteen

The administration of the canteen is given to experienced, proficient and committed contractors. The canteen is open on all working days. Besides, they provide food at a very nominal price.

Transport

The college operates a fleet of buses for transportation which ply through a network of routes in the surrounding areas. Students may avail the transport facility for their own convenience and safety and to prevent late coming to college.
