Maharaja College Jaipur was set up in 1844 by Sawai Ram Singh as "Maharaja School", and is located at Manak Chowk, close to Hawa-Mahal. After gaining recognition, the institute got affiliated with Calcutta University in 1873 and to Allahabad University in 1890. Currently, with more than 2,500 students, this college is affiliated with Rajasthan University. In 2011, UGC imparted the status of 'College with Potential of Excellence' to this institute.

Maharaja College Jaipur has started the admission procedure for the year 2022-23. The college gives admission on the merit-based scores for admission in relevant courses. The college offers full-time UG courses. The duration of the course is 3 years with a student capacity of 30 seats in each specialization for the B.Sc course and 120 seats in BCA.
