Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur is the second Agriculture univeristy of the state. It was came into existence on 1st november 1999. This has been done in view of Physiographic variation including crops, cropping pattern, climate, soil paarameters etc, in the largest state of the country. It was difficult to manage stipulated task of teaching, research and extension activities through a single university in the state. This university provides new fillip to location specific programs more suited to tribal belt specifically for the southern Rajasthan.

Maharana Pratap University started functioning in full swing with effect from december 1, 1999. This University is accredited and recognized by AICTE and ICAR. Maharana Pratap University offers courses in department of agriculture, food science technology, Engineering and Technology, Applied sciences. 

Maharana Pratap University admissions offers to foreign students under the category of ICAR nominee or through the bilateral arrangement with the university. All admissions are made on the basis of merit of joint entrance test. Eligibility criteria at the Maharana Pratap University of Agricultural and Technology

B.Sc. Programme

The minimum eligibility for a candidate to appear in the test is 10+2 examination with Science / Home Science Group / Agriculture /Arts of the Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan or an examination declared equivalent to it with 50% marks in the said exam. Only female candidates are eligible.

The candidates securing 75% or more marks in Rajasthan Board / CBSE may be admitted in addition, subject to the conditions that the candidate is a bonafide student of Rajasthan and has passed Senior Secondary Examination from Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan Ajmer or CBSE centre in Rajasthan. These seats will be over and above the normal seats for which admissions are made.

M.Sc. Programme

Admission is done through a competitive Pre-Post Graduate test conducted by University at the time and place announced by the Coordinator appointed by Vice Chancellor. The minimum eligibility for a candidate to appear in this test is B.Sc. Degree in Home Science with 6.00/10 or equivalent OGPA for General and 5.50/10 SC/ST candidates. Only female candidates are eligible.

PhD (by Course Work)

Admission to the PhD Programme will be done in the first semester of the academic session on the basis of merit/interview through open advertisement. The Candidate must have a minimum overall grade point average (OPGA) of 6.50 on 10.00 point scale or equivalent percentage of marks at Master's degree in the concerned subject and 5% relaxation may be given to SC/ ST candidates. All eligible candidates shall be interviewed by a committee constituted by the Dean of the College under her Chairmanship, which shall prepare the merit lists for admission in each subject. Eighty percent weight age shall be on academics and 20% on the interview.

Admission procedure at the Maharana Pratap University of Agricultural and Technology

• The prospectus may be purchased from the Division of Admissions at the University Campus or such other locations as specified by the University, on payment of Rs. 250.
• Applicants seeking admission have to fill up the Application Form available in the Prospectus.
• It is mandatory to fill in all the columns in the Application Form. ‘N.A.’ should be written if any field is not applicable.
• The applicant seeking admission should submit the following documents, both self-attested and attested by the competent authority (i.e. a Gazetted Officer or Notary or any other appropriate authority as prescribed by the University) with seal.
• The applicant seeking admission must submit a photocopy of Matriculation or equivalent certificate bearing testimony to Date of Birth.
• The applicant seeking admission should submit the photocopy of the detailed marks card of the qualifying exam and other exams as prescribed by the University.
• Photocopy of proof of residence (Passport/Voter Identity Card/ Ration Card/ Aadhar Card/ Driving License/ Electricity Bill/ Telephone Bill/ Bank Account Statement).
• Photocopy of a document bearing the applicant’s signature for verification purpose (only if the same is not there in the proof of residence).
• Undertaking by the applicant in case of any backlog (Result awaited/ Re-appear/Backlog or any other backlog).
• Undertaking for Gap Period if the applicant is applying after a gap in his/ her studies.
• A unique ID and password will be sent to the registered mail ID of the candidate.
• A representative of the University will call the candidates and orient them regarding various details related to the eligibility criteria, fees, scholarship options etc that are available to the candidates.

Maharana Pratap University Cutoff:

MBA:

The examination on which the cutoffs are based, for MBA is CAT. The cut for 2016 was 70 percentile for all the streams under MBA.

B.Tech:

The examination on which the cutoffs are based, for B.Tech is JEE Main. The cutoffs for the various streams of B.tech is as follows.

• For B.Tech (Hons.) Computer Science and Engineering ranges from rank 46122 to rank 367950.
• For B.Tech (Hons.) Electronics and Communication Engineering ranges from rank 46643 to rank 330139.
• For B.Tech (Hons.) Mechanical Engineering ranges from rank 57831 to rank 313745.
• For B.Tech (Hons.) Civil Engineering ranges from rank 96356 to rank 352761.

Maharana Pratap University Hostel Details:

This university is has 2 seperate hostel buildings, one is general hostel and other one is for foreign students. 

• There are total 10 general hostels in that 2 hostels are for female students.
• Every hostel has been provided with common room, hostel library, color TV, furniture, Indoor games and courts like basket ball, volleyball, Badminton and tennis etc, 
• There are seperate hostels for UG and PG students.
• Mess of each hostel is equipped with refrigerators, water coolers and LPG cooking gas.
• The foreign students will be educated in the desired field by framing their knowledge according to indian educational structure.
