Mar Ivanios College was established in 1949. The college follows the excellence supporting the far-sighted vision of our revered founder Archbishop Mar Ivanios. The institute ensures the development of global competencies and skills in students. Mar Ivanios College,  Trivandrum vibrant academics community is known for its innovation, intellectual rigor and social commitment through internationally validated teaching-learning, research, co-curricular and outreach processes in the faculties. The Mar Ivanios College has been ranked 66th among colleges by NIRF ranking 2024.

MIC Facilities:

Library:

Mar Ivanios College Library is situated in a prime area of campus spread over 10423.84 Sq.ft. with a ground floor and mezzanine floor. The library offers extension centers in the Departments of Physics, Zoology, and English. MIC library also facilitates lounge area, staff area, utility area along with reprographic services, e-learning, bookshelves, and other services. The library is subscribed to many resources.

MIC Library is fully automated with LIBSOFT an Integrated Library Management Software [ILMS] which provides a very user-friendly interface for searching documents [OPAC] available in the library and their issue-status. The library is hosed with more than 69000 books and journals. Mar Ivanios College Library is provided with high bandwidth computers with 10 Mbps. MIC library is subscribed to many of resources like N-LIST, DELNET, South Asian Archives, JSTOR, EBSCO, and National Digital Library of India.

Facilities for Differently Abled:

 MIC focuses on the welfare of differently-abled students providing them the opportunity to get their higher education. The college even has a Grievance/Welfare Cell for Persons with Disabilities as per the policy directive of the Government to ensure all necessary services to them. The UGC assists various schemes to facilitate higher education for persons with special needs. The college provides special education programs as well as suitable infrastructure to differently-abled students. The students can access classrooms, laboratories, toilet, and other areas. 

Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum has collaborated with 'Insight', a center that provides training for differently-abled students with the help of IT Mission and Department of Social Welfare Government of Kerala, started in 2010. The students belonging to this PWD category can get an IT-based skill development program under this mission. MIC provides a computer lab with 10 systems that are equipped with special software and these students can practice with their own convenient time with the help of lab assistant.

Gender Sensitivity:

MIC's mission and vision statement ensure the quality education is provided to all students without any discrimination against caste, creed, religion, and gender. The college offers full-fledged Women Cell as an integral part of Ivanios commune, which takes proactive steps to promote education place culture. The basic needs of the girl students are taken care of to nurture them to be healthy, hygienic and responsible citizens. It is designed to facilitate equal opportunities and fairness of treatment on the campus. The college always focuses to redress gender stereotypes, and encourage women to reach their full potential of academic excellence and makes sure that tasks and responsibilities are shared. In Mar Ivanios college more than 60% of students and staff are women.

8. The college offers a frequent special medical check-up arranged exclusively for lady staff and lady students, an adequate representation of girl students in the College Union with Vice-Chairperson reserved for them and one representative each from all classes and a common lady representative.

Schemes for Advanced and Slow Learners:

Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum has special academic schemes to help advanced and slow learners. At UG levels the students are encouraged to take up competitive exams for admissions to national institutes like NIT's, IIT, Central, and State Universities. MIC offers Walk With a Scholar [WWS] program initiated by the Government of Kerala for advanced learners. Advanced learner students at the PG level are given an opportunity to present papers at national seminars. 

The college provides INFLIBNET, which is currently open to all students, advanced learners were identified and given training in open access e-publishing. Students are also encouraged to participate in the various inter-collegiate quiz and academic competitions. At the UG level, The Scholar Support Programme for slow learners is funded by the State government and has been running very efficiently for the last four years. Every year more than 100 students from college take benefit of this scheme. The faculty also try to do remedial sessions for all students who are weak in studies, who appear for the supplementary examinations, especially those who have failed in the previous attempt.

ICT Facilities:

MIC is the first college in Kerala to erect IT facilities. The college has its computer center with four 256 processor and one 512 processor computers, with the support of the erstwhile Royal. There are computer labs in almost all departments fully networked through an Ethernet LAN and Wifi facility. The college is committed to implementing 100% e-governance both in academic and administrative matters. 

The college provides 50 classrooms with ICT facilities, 8 of them with interactive smartboards. Students have free internet access in the computer center and have wifi access on request. Faculty have free high-speed internet access on their personal laptops or on LAN connected desktops in their Department/Library/Computer Centre. MIC offers remote access to INFLIBNET, DELNET, NDL, NPTELband others. The institute has upgraded Library Management Software with the facility of Web-based Catalogue [Web-OPAC] and Automated Gate Register. Also implemented Knowledge Pro, a College Management Software constantly customizing it to suit the requirements of the College including admissions, attendance, examinations, fee collection, etc.

Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum admission is done online only by visiting the college official website. The students seeking admission in postgraduate, undergraduate and doctoral are compulsory should register online through college official website. Once Mar Ivanios college online registration is done 'Mar Ivanios college student login' is generated which will be a unique ID and password for each student. Mar Ivanios college rank list of PG/UG will be generated based on marks/percentage of CGPA obtained in the qualifying examination. All grades will be converted into a percentage of marks for the rank list.

The college will fix the interview for the eligible students to get the admissions. The students are required to submit all the documents as mentioned in the official website. MIC has its own mandatory rules and regulations for management quota seats.  

Management Quota [MQ] Rules:

1. The students with more than 70% in the qualifying examination are considered under management admission.
2. The candidate seeking admission under Management Quota should register online in Management quota.
3. The Community students seeking admission under MQ from outside Kerala should produce a recommendation letter from concerned Malankara parish priests.
4. NRI students will be given MQ admission only if some close relative/guardian or family takes full responsibility and guardianship.
5. There will be due weight for catechism certificate of XII/ X Class, MCYM and church activities for the community students to MQ.

Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Hostel Details:

MIC has three approved hostels. The hostels can accommodate 500 girls and 150 boys. Mar Ivanios College Hostels ensures the safety of students by providing strict security covering. The hostels aim at the disciplined training and accommodation for students.

The three Hostels are:

1. St. Alphonsa, run by Sacred Heart Sisters.
2. MTTC, run by SIC sisters Hostels for girls.
3. St. Thomas Hostel, run by Fathers for Boys.
