Mohamed Sathak AJ College of Physiotherapy Courses 

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T) - 4 ½ Years:-

Duration:

The program spans four academic years, with one annual exam each year.

Examination:

University exams are conducted in August and February.

Compulsory Internship:

After completing all subjects, students must undertake a six-month full-time internship in government or private hospitals approved by the university.

Eligibility for B.P.T:

• Minimum 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Botany & Zoology), including both theory and practicals.
• Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year.

Master of Physiotherapy (M.P.T) - 2 Years:-

Elective Subjects Offered:

• Physiotherapy in Orthopaedics
• Physiotherapy in Neurology
• Physiotherapy in Cardio Pulmonary Conditions
• Sports Physiotherapy

Duration:
This two-year program includes one annual exam each year.

Examination:
University exams are held in May and October each year.

Eligibility for M.P.T:

• A BPT degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University or an equivalent institution.
• BPT internship must be completed before May 30th.
• Candidates from universities other than Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University must submit a Migration Certificate and Eligibility Certificate by the last week of May.

Admission Procedure

Application forms are available at the college upon payment of the application fee. For the BPT course, applications open in March, and for the MPT course, they open in November each year.

For BPT Course:

Shortlisted candidates must submit the following original documents along with three copies:

• 10th and 12th Mark Sheets
• 12th Transfer Certificate
• Community Certificate
• 10th & 12th Conduct Certificates
• Physical Fitness Certificate
• Blood Group Report
• 6 Recent Passport-sized Photos + Digital Photo (CD)
• Migration & Eligibility Certificate (for out-of-state or CBSE students)

For MPT Course:

Shortlisted candidates must submit the following original documents along with three copies:

• 10th & 12th Mark Sheets
• Community Certificate
• BPT Transfer Certificate, Degree Certificate, and Internship Certificate
• BPT Mark Sheets (All semesters/years)
• Migration & Eligibility Certificate (for students from other universities)
• Physical Fitness Certificate
• Blood Group Report

For Overseas Students (BPT & MPT Courses):

• Attested mark sheets from the Ministry of Education, countersigned by the Indian Embassy
• Equivalency letter for HSC/A/O levels from the relevant Educational Authority
• Migration and Eligibility Certificates from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University
• Council Registration (if applicable)
• Valid Passport and Student Visa
• N.O.C. from the Embassy/Consulate for overseas students in India

Clinical Training:

Students receive extensive clinical exposure across various departments, including:

Locomotor handicapped care, cardiothoracic rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, burns, plastic surgery & hand therapy, rheumatology, leprosy rehabilitation, sports fitness, obstetrics & gynaecology (OBG), and community rehabilitation.

Clinical Partnerships:

Practical skills are honed through collaborations with leading government and private hospitals.

Library:

The library aids educational and research initiatives by offering resources such as textbooks, encyclopedias, journals, videos, and CDs. It is fully automated with online access, e-journals, inter-library loans, and a book bank for SC/ST students.

Placement Cell:

The placement cell supports students in securing job opportunities both in India and abroad, in sectors such as hospitals, rehabilitation centres, fitness clinics, and the IT industry as fitness specialists. Physiotherapists can also pursue careers in biomedical research and ergonomic consulting.

Hostel:

The college provides separate hostels for men and women with hygienic living conditions and affordable, nutritious food (vegetarian and non-vegetarian options). Transport services link the hostels to the city.
