The cut off for my course is of rank 15000 . Entrance Exams & Admissions : For taking admission in our college you have to be a citizen of India.You can join the college after your class 12th in science.To take admission you have to qualify for JEE MAIN (joint entrance exam) conducted by CBSE every year. The cut-offs for our college is given on the official website of jee i.e jee mains.nic.in or josaa.nic.in.
Fees & Scholarships : Fees are according to family income. If family income is less than then tuition fees are free, if family income is between 1 lakhs and 5 lakhs then tuition fees are 1/3 Rd of tuition fees, if family income is more than 5lpa then there is no concession in tuition fees. Tuition fees per year are Rs 125000. Yes, bank loans are available.Loans can be taken from any bank from any branch.
Academics & Faculty : Classes start from morning 8:00 am to evening 5:00 pm. There are free period in between. Lunchtime is from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Saturday and Sunday are holidays.Assignments and projects are according to teachers that whether they want to give or not. Quality and method of teaching is very good. Smart classes take place regularly, labs are equipped with new instruments. Overall there is very good academic environment in the college.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : In total there 5 boys hostel and 3 girls hostels. There is a separate boys hostel for 1st-year students for 1 year. Hostel fees per month are Rs 3000(INR) per seem and the mess fees are Rs 12000(INR) per sem. Since it is a govt. College so all the students resides in the hostel. There is no need to reside outside the college.Every room in the hostel is equipped with services and the whole campus is WiFi prone.We have the largest central library in Asia.
Clubs & Associations : To maintain the student's activity we have a students union body called as gymkhana union body. Under this body, we have different clubs. The main clubs are literary club, coding club, robotics club,music club,dance club,sports club,eco club etc. The tech fest of college is known as Technoesis which is held in Oct or Nov month of every academic year and the cultural fest is known as incandescence which is held on Feb month of every academic year.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : NIT Silchar has 9 boys hostels and 3 girls hostels along with separate hostels for married, PG & Foreign students. NIT Silchar provides very good hostel & campus life. Food quality of hostel, the mess is fine and it costs INR 26000 per annum. The campus has WIFI facilities and the hostel is full LAN available.
Clubs & Associations : There are lots of clubs in NIT Silchar including Literary club, trekking, spiritual club, robotics club, eco club, photography club etc. Tecnoesis-our annual tech management fest, Incandescent-our annual cultural fest which is celebrated with full of enthusiasm. Life in college is really very nice.
