Silchar Medical College (SMC) was set up in 1968 as a government-run medical college cum hospital located in Silchar in southern Assam, one of the oldest medical colleges in North East India. The vision of SMC is to be the leading center of learning and innovation in emerging areas of Medical education. Admission 2022-23 is in process for various UG, PG and PG Diploma courses in various specializations. Admission to these courses is done on the basis of qualifying exams like NEET UG and NEET PG.

SMCH imparts practical training to its students that helps them to understand better, improve their demonstrative skills, eliminate hesitation and in this process strives to mold them into professionals. The mission of SMCH is to foster critical analysis by training students both in theory and practice so as to equip them with the skills needed for facing global challenges with teamwork and human values. Silchar Medical College Admission

Silchar Medical College admission 2022-23 is in process. Candidates seeking admission to the college can apply by filling up an online application form available on the official website of the college. Admission to UG & PG courses are given on the basis of NEET UG & NEET PG respectively. The candidates who qualify the eligibility criteria as per the SMCH norms and in order of merit will be called for counseling.

Silchar Medical College has set certain eligibility criteria to be fulfilled by the students to secure admission to the college. The candidates interested in admission have to satisfy the below-mentioned eligibility criteria 

M.B.B.S Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates should have completed 12th in PCMB and English with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
• The candidates must have obtained the minimum required rank in NEET UG.

MD/ MS Eligibility Criteria   

• The candidate should have completed M.B.B.S.
• The candidates must have obtained a valid score in NEET PG. 

PG Diploma Eligibility Criteria     

• The candidate should have completed MBBS.
• The candidates must have obtained a valid score in NEET PG.
