National Power Training Institute, [NPTI] Durgapur Fee Structure. The fee for my course is Rs 1,06,000 per year.
There are two scholarships mainly, one is a full fee waiver and the other is half fee waiver. In full fee waiver, you don't have to pay tuition fees and in half fee waiver you have to pay half tuition fees and the tuition fees are near about 43k per semester. A total of 3 students will get a full fee waiver and 8 students will get a half fee waiver. There are not as such options for loans.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
The admission is done through the WBJEE exam that is the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. The cut off was pretty good, last general candidate who got admission through WBJEE had to rank something about 7k but in spot counseling, it went 30k.
Placements & Internships :
The placement was pretty good in 2009-2013, then it was more than 100%placement, now placement is not up to the mark. In our batch, only 11 students placed and the average package is around 5.5 lakh. For our batch only 2 companies were there, one is PCBL, and the other is HINDALCO, package of PCBL was 5.25 and HINDALCO was 6 LPA. In our course curriculum, one internship is mandatory, you can manage it on your own or college can provide you, these internships are not paid, I have done my internship at DVC.
Academics & Faculty :
Class timing is from 10 A.M generally sometime it differs depending on teachers and students and it ends at 4-5 P.M depends on classes. Teachers are very much student-friendly they give assignments daily and thorough check the students' activities as students are only 43 in our batch.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
The infrastructure is pretty good here and enough for us, there are mainly 3 hostels allotted for b.tech students, one for only first-year students, one for girls and the other one is for seniors. The first-year hostel is very much clean but the hostel allotted for seniors is not that much clean. PGDC hostel is very clean and A.C also installed there, food is pretty good now you will get unlimited veg in lunch just by spending 50 rupees and if you spend 110 rupees you will get a meal for one whole day. Classrooms and labs are well equipped, in every wing of our hostel there is wifi and the speed is good, we have project in our classrooms.
