NPTI Nagpur was established in the year 1975, by the ministry of power.NTPI Nagpur is western regional institute fulfilling the requirement of training in the power sector for Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhyapradesh and Chattisgarh States. Its function has a national apex for human resource development for the Indian power sector. The corporate office is located at Faridabad and operates on all India basis through the four regional institutes at Badarpur, Nagpur, Durgapur, and Neyveli. This institute has been awarded grade 'A' category-I in accordance with norms and criteria laid down in CEA guidelines for Thermal and Transmission&Distribution fields.

NPTI offers courses under multiple specializations. All these courses have different eligibility criteria and selection procedure. NPTI Admission:

NPTI, Nagpur offers 4-year B.Tech course in power Engineering and twenty-six weeks post-graduate diploma course in T&D system. For admission to B.Tech candidates should attempt Maharashtra CET(common entrance test) conducted by DTE Maharashtra,

• Jee mains scorecard also accepted for B.Tech admission.
• Candidates have to fill the application form in online mode.
• For PGD course, Candidate should have done B.Tech in relevant discipline.

NPTI Hostel Details:

NPTI has a total of four hostel buildings, having a capacity of 200+ beds. NTPI hostels are packed with all the relevant facilities that are required by the hostel residents. More details about the hostels are mentioned below.

• The executive hostel consists of 31 single bedrooms.
• PG hostel consists of 28 double bedrooms with AC/NON AC and LED TV facility.
• Another new boys hostel consists of 33 triple bedrooms.
• Old boys hostel having 3 wings named as A/B/C  consists of 111 double bed rooms.
