Free Education for PG Students

On the proposal of the department committee, one first-year student of each program provided with a high rank in the UG program is exempted from paying fees for the duration of the program.

Dr Ambedkar and Rajaji Meritorious Scholarship

One first-year PG student with the highest UG score among classmates are given the Periyar University scholarship, which will be renewed for the second year if the candidate passes all subjects in first-year PG in a single attempt.

University Research Fellowship

One research scholar will be awarded a University Research Fellowship (URF) based on their registration seniority among the scholars enrolled regardless of their category.

Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme

Tuition waivers are available to students admitted to the B.Voc. (Food Science and Nutrition, Textiles and Apparel Design) program. Tuition fee waivers are available to physically challenged students admitted to Periyar University regardless of their category or program of study.

Partial Travel Financial Support

Researchers from university departments who deliver research papers at international conferences hosted by foreign institutions are entitled to a 50% discount on air travel.

NGO Scholarship

A few non-governmental organisations (NGOs) provide Periyar University scholarships to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Special Financial Assistance

• During the Covid 19 period, all students registered in add-on courses will have their fees waived.
• In addition, the students are not required to pay the room rent.
