Vinayaka Missions University (VMU), Salem was established as Deemed University under Section-3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by MHRD, Established in the year 2001. Offering educational programmes in the field of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Homoeopathy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Allied Health Science, Education, IT, Management and Engineering.
The Vinayaka Missions University was instituted in 1981 with the establishment of Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal [TKVTSS] medical education and a charitable trust. The University is accredited by NAAC. In 2001 Vinayaka Missions was conferred as "Deemed to be University" by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
