About Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University

This University was founded with the broad objectives of serving the cause of the Telugu people, both within the State and outside. For this purpose, the state government has merged the Sahitya, Sangeetha, Nataka, Nritya and Lalitha Kala Academies, International Telugu Institute and Telugu Bhasha Samithi into the University. Thus, the University was established to function as a central organization for teaching and research in Language and Literature, History and Culture, Fine Arts and Performing Arts, religion and philosophy of the Telugu speaking people. It strives to inculcate a sense of identity in them as citizens of India and as responsible representatives of Andhra Pradesh. This University was renamed as Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University in the year 1998. The University Grants Commission has recognized the University as fit to receive financial grants since 2^nd May1990.

Eligibility Criteria at Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University

• Candidates must secure 50% in their Higher Secondary Examination in order to apply at the University
• For postgraduate courses, the candidate must secure a minimum of 50% in their Higher Secondary Examination as well as the undergraduate course they have pursued prior to the course they wish to pursue presently
• SC/ST students must secure 45% in their Higher Secondary Examination in order to apply at the University

Hostel Facilities at Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University

The University provides the following hostel facilities:

• The hostels are spacious, safe and secured with a cordial environment and surrounded by pleasant landscapes.
• A hygienic kitchen has been provided in each hostel with large dining halls. 
• The college has 4(four) ladies hostels accommodating 1400 borders and seven boys hostel with 2500 boarders
• The hostel has Wi-Fi connectivity
• The hostels have medical facilities
• Proper hygienic condition and strict supervision is maintained throughout the hostels
