Infrastructure

R.K.S.D. (P.G.) College, as has been indicated before, is situated at a prime location of the town on Hisar-Ambala National Highway. It is spread over an area of 10 acres. It has vast building along-with spacious lawns, playgrounds, stadium and residential complex. Every year more and more infrastructural facilities are added keeping in view the growing needs of the institution. These facilities are put to optimum use for the purpose of teaching and career building of the students. The Governing Body of the college is very particular about the growth and the maintenance of the infrastructure of the college. The Principal and the teachers' representatives provide all the necessary feedback to the Governing Body in this regard. The details of these infrastructural facilities are given below.

Facilities

Computer Lab

The College has a vast network of computer facilities. It has two computer labs, which are fully  air-conditioned. A large number of latest computers have been provided in these labs to fulfill the requirement of every student. Recently the office and the accounts section of the college have also been fully computerized. Also the college library is fully computerized.

Library Facilities

The College has an impressive library, which has its own attraction for the students. It is housed in a two storeyed  building having  over 6400 Sq. ft. of carpet area. It has more than 55000 books on its shelves. It has a seating capacity of 200 students in the reading room. The library section of the College is fully computerized. It subscribes to nearly eighty magazines and research journals. About sixteen daily newspapers of English, Hindi and Punjabi are also subscribed. On the recommendations of the library committee, constituted separately for each class, the poor students are issued textbooks for the whole year free of cost.

Cultural Activities

The College has a vast infrastructure for inculcating cultural traits among students. It has a very spacious and sound proof hall with a stage. Sports Facilities

The College has good arrangement for sports and games like Cricket, Chess, Handball, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Basketball, Ball Badminton, Badminton, Kabbadi and Athletics. At the under-graduate level Physical Education is taught as a full-fledged subject. A gym has also been set up recently which caters to the needs of the students as well as the faculty members. College teams participate in various University tournaments and competitions. Annual Athletics and Sports Meet is held every year towards the end of the session in which outstanding sports persons and athletes are honoured with prizes given away by distinguished personalities. At the National level, our student Mr. Balwinder Singh brought laurels not only for the College but also for the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra by winning gold medal in all India Inter-University Boxing Championship this year. At the International Level, our student Mr. Wazir Singh has added another feather in the cap of the college by captaining Indian Kabbadi Team (Jr.) and winning Gold Medal for the country in the Asian Kabbadi Championship Tournament held at Tehran.

College Canteen

The College provides two canteens separately for boys and girls. These canteens are run under the care of a committee of Lecturers. Both the Canteens are spacious and well furnished. The boys’ canteen has also got a Students’ Centre attached to it for the students to spend their leisure time.
