Campus

The college has a sprawling eco-friendly vast campus with huge open space. The 14.98 Acre campus area of the college consist the Main College Building, Bio-Building, flower garden, herbal-garden, three hostels, staff quarters and play-grounds.

Building

A double storied main building is occupying the central position of the college campus. This building houses the administrative section, the computer section and the various departments. All the science departments possess their own specific and well equipped laboratories. Besides, there also exists a library, a gymnasium, a canteen, students’ common room etc. in this main building itself. A separate building is at present the bio-science departments. Three hostels also exist within the campus which includes football and cricket grounds, volleyball and badminton courts. A herbal garden also exists where medicinal plants are reared under the attentive care of the college through its NSS unit.

Housing

The college has an adjacent professors’ colony where many of the Teachers and staffs of the college reside. It consists of three Separate buildings, each consisting of four flats.

Guest House

The college has, of its own, a well-furnished and test fully decorated airy Guest House in the college campus for the comfortable accommodation of honourable and distinguished guest hailing from different places, off and on, on important occasions or for examination purpose.

Herbal Garden

A herbal garden also exists where medicinal plants are reared under the attentive care of the college through its NSS unit and Department of Botany.

Classrooms

The College has more than twenty one classrooms of different sizes including one hall for large population of students. All the classrooms are equipped well with light, fan, black or green board. Some of the classrooms have provision for teaching-learning activity using Over Head Projector, laptop and LCD projector.  

Digital Classrooms

The College has two Digital Class Rooms which are equipped with Laptop, LCD Projector, special interactive screen and softwares & arrangement for visual exhibition of hard copies. Teachers from several disciplines use these class rooms and students enjoy learning lessons in these special technology enabled arrangement.  

Common Room

Common room for girls and boys is provided where they can spend their leisure time. These common rooms are also supplied with indoor games facility.

Computer and Internet

Computer Facility: College office and library is fully computerized for their all types of activities.  All the departments have at least one computer for used by the teachers and students Internet: College has broadband internet facilities in the office, library, and computer centre and in all the departments. Students can avail of that facility when accompanied by a teacher.

Wi-fi facility

Wi-fi facility is available in the college campus particularly in the Administrative block, Library and Departments.   

Seminar Hall

The college has one seminar hall equipped with laptop, LCD-projector, audio system where seminar and large meetings are organized.

Central Library

The college has a well stocked central library consisting of more than 30000 approx books and is spread over an area of 300 square meters. The number of books is always on the rise as every year new books are added to the list. The library also has a pretty well stocked journal section (National level)and it is fully computerized with Bar Coding System and Wi-Fi internet facilities. There is a well-lighted reading section where the students can profitably utilize their leisure time. Besides, there exists an internal reading area for the benefit of the teachers. Moreover, provision is made for departmental seminar libraries, where reference books are kept to satisfy immediate requirement.

Laboratory

Botany Laboratory; Chemistry Laboratory; Soil-Testing Laboratory (Chemistry); Physics Laboratory; Physiology Laboratory; Zoology Laboratory; Mathematics Computer Laboratory; Geography Laboratory.

Sky Observation Centre

The college has a sky observation centre monitored by the physics department with a regular telescope.

Instrumentation Centre

The college has a common Instrumentation Centre having all types of up to date instruments required for smooth running of the different projects conducted by all the Faculty members of the college.  

Vehicle Parking Shed

The college has a well – constructed vehicle parking shed where the students can keep their cycles safely.

Generators

To provide uninterrupted supply of power the college has installed one 5KW ordinary and one KW green generators. Depending upon the power loads required they are operated accordingly.

Drinking water

College has one cooler cum water purifiers and three water purifiers installed at different locations.

Open-Air Auditorium

The college has a large Open-Air Auditorium for different cultural activities.

Hostel

The college has extensive hostel facility for both boys and girls, which provide adequate accommodation to students coming from far. The hostels provide healthy, hygienic living space and are congenial to the well-being of the students. There are three boys’ hostels (Aurobinda Hostel, Rabindra Hostel and Vivekananda Hostel) and one girl’s hostel (Nibedita Hostel). Hostel facility is also offered to S.C./S.T. candidates and a hostel (Vivekananda) is exclusively designated for this purpose. The students have to apply for hostel facility at the time of admission. A list is then prepared giving special preference to students coming from far. These hostels are run by personal messing system with seat rent and electricity charges being collected regularly.

Health Centre

The college has arranged for a health-check-up camp at weekly basis where a local doctor goes over the health problems of the students and provides them necessary medicine and advice.

Sports facilities

The college has a well supplied gymnasium with a well-qualified instructor wherein the students are trained. Besides, the college also encourages outdoor games such as football, cricket and volley ball. Annunal sports competitions are held to detect talented sports prospects of the college and to encourage them further.

Gymnasium

The college has a well equipped gymnasium where the students undergo regular training under a trainer.

Canteen

The college provides canteen facility where good quality food is provided at an economical price.

NCC and NSS Unit

As co-curricular activities, there are actively operating NSS and NCC units also.

PG Study Centre

The college is running post graduate study centre facilitated by The Directorate of Distance Education, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore presently with the subjects Environmental Science and All Arts subjects.

Welfare Scheme

The college undertakes adequate schemes to ensure the welfare of both teachers and students. The teachers can borrow money from the college co-operative. The students are also granted half and full free-ship in case of financial incapability.

Grievance Redressal Cell

There is an arrangement of a grievance box and the working of a committee on that head for the employees and others. If there be any grievance on the part of any employee or other, the person concerned may submit his/her grievance in writing in the box or may apply to the Grievance Redressal Committee. The committee then meets, discusses the matter and redresses the grievance. Any student, guardian may apply here.
