Hoogly Mohsin College took its inception in the year 1836 and it is situated in the corner of Chinsurah, the headquarters of Burdwan in the Hoogly district of West Bengal. This Institution is one of the premier academic institutions in the country. It's been 178 long years, the institution promoting higher education. The institution holds an affiliation from the  University of Burdwan. Hoogly college is recognized by UGC and it got accreditation from NAAC as well.

Hoogly college has hostel facilities for students with all the required facilities. Hoogly Mohsin College Facilities provides two hostels both the hostels are only for boys which are namely Kanailal Dutta Hostel with an intake of  53students and Zachariah Hostel that can accommodate 16 students. Applicants can apply for hostels at the time of their admissions in the appropriate hostel offices.
