Sikkim Manipal University was established in the year 1995 and is a private university located in East Sikkim. SMU is recognized by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 vide letter No F. 9-7/96 (CPP-I) dated 9th Dec 1998 and approved by the Government of India. It is the first-ever Public-Private Partnership in the country for higher Education and Health Care Services.

The University has two campuses: The Medical campus and the Technology campus. The university runs with an objective to support, promote and undertake the advancement of academics and to encourage research, creation, and dissemination of knowledge.

The university is now open for various courses at UG, PG, and research levels. Sikkim Manipal University runs with a mission to develop professionals of excellent technical caliber in the field of Health Sciences, Engineering, Management, and Social Sciences with a humane approach capable of shouldering the responsibility of building the nation and being globally competent. The specializations and eligibility criteria for every course and level differ from each other. For admission to some courses, the university conducts separate entrance tests, interviews, and group discussion rounds in order to evaluate the candidates, whereas admission is purely based on the merit of the candidates for other courses.

Sikkim Manipal University UG Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria, Admission Criteria

The minimum eligibility criteria for a candidate to apply for the courses is that he/she must have a relevant 10+2 qualification or equivalent. The other criteria are as follows

MBBS	Candidates must complete 10+2 /equivalent with 50% marks in PCB (40% for SC/ST/OBC) The selection criteria will be based on NEET marks
B.Sc	Candidates must complete 10+2/equivalent with 50% marks in PCB/Biotechnology The admission criteria will be based on Merit, based on marks in the qualifying examination
BPT	Candidates must complete 10+2/equivalent with 50% marks in PCB The admission criteria will be based on Merit, based on marks in the qualifying examination
B.Com	Candidates must complete 10+2 in any relevant stream The admission criteria will be based on Merit, based on marks in the qualifying examination

B.Tech	Candidates must have passed (10+2) or equivalent with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry or Computer Sciences or Biotechnology or Biology, as one of the optional subjects They must have secured a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC) marks in aggregate in these subjects to be considered for selection.

The candidates must have a relevant UG degree to become eligible. The other eligibility criteria are as follows

Ph.D	Candidates must have a Master’s degree from this University or its equivalent of another recognized University or Institute with a minimum of 55% marks The degree should be relevant to the department to which he/she applied for a PhD A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the direction of the UGC from time to time Clearing of entrance test is only one of the prerequisites for admission

Below are the steps and procedures to be followed to apply for the courses mentioned above

The college accepts the online method of application
Candidates must initially visit the online official website of the college and get themselves registered
The website may send the candidates a verification code at the registered E-Mail ID or the mobile number
After getting registered successfully, fill in the application form with all the relevant details
Candidates need to keep ready scanned photo and signature to upload (.jpg format; maximum file size 200KB; 200 px x 200 px)
After filing the application form, pay the application fee through the online method
Once the application fee is submitted successfully, then the registration will be considered complete
