Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, established in 2009 under the "Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences Act, 2007," is the only health university in Northeast India, with jurisdiction over Assam. Located in the Gauhati Medical College Building, Guwahati, the university is well-connected by air, rail, and road. The university’s mission is to foster an intellectual, academic, and collaborative environment for the exchange of ideas, supporting research and higher learning in health sciences. It aims to establish uniform standards in health sciences education and create partnerships with national and international centres of excellence.

SSUHS Courses

SSUHS offers UG admissions in MBBS, BSc Nursing, BPharm, BSc Medical Technology, BMLT, BOPTM, BAMS, and BHMS. At the PG level, it offers MD/MS, MSc Nursing, MPT, and MPharm, along with diploma and PhD programs.

SSUHS Admissions

SSUHS admissions for 2024 are based on entrance exams. MBBS admission requires NEET UG scores, while BSc Nursing, BPharm, BSc Medical Technology, BMLT, BOPTM, BAMS, and BHMS admissions depend on the university's CEE. MD/MS and DM/MCh admissions are based on NEET PG and NEET SS, respectively, and GNM admissions are based on GNMEE scores. To apply, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria, fill out the application form, and pay a non-refundable INR 1,200 fee via online payment. After clearing the CEE/NEET, candidates must submit the required documents and pay applicable admission fees, including tuition, campus, and hostel fees.

SSUHS scholarships

SSUHS offers scholarships to meritorious students based on their university exam performance. Scholarships are also available for minority students based on their qualifying exam results. Additionally, the State Government provides financial assistance to students in need, typically based on their previous exam performance.
