College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
We have an eco-friendly campus with greenery all around. There are computer labs, a huge library, a basketball court and a courtyard where students spend most of their time. There is a hostel facility in the college, and students are accommodated in 3 blocks. The food is decent, and there are strict rules and regulations for the hostelers. The food is pretty decent. The hostel fee annually is 37,200 INR, and the mess fee is annually is 91,000 INR. A total cost of around 1,60,000 would be incurred annually, including all the miscellaneous expenses.There are various PGs nearly in Sanjauli and also at Nvbahaar where the college is located.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
The basic eligibility criteria to get admission to the institute is to pass the senior secondary (+2) Examination conducted by the H.P. Board of School Education or an examination accepted as equivalent by the various bodies of the H.P University. The candidate must secure 50% for the General category and 45% for SC/ST and OBC. The minimum percentages can vary according to the regulations of Himachal Pradesh University.
There is no particular entrance exam to get admitted to B.com. Candidates passing out from the commerce stream shall be given preference over others.
Placements & Internships :
Companies like UAS International and AIM India Group came, and Stallion Management Company offered various sales roles for winter internships. The students also had a choice of taking internships off the campus; it is not a compulsion to take an internship during the course. During my second year, I interned at Verka, Chandigarh, which was also an off the campus winter internship.A recruitment drive by Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein was held for the final placements offering a package of around 3 LPA. UAS International also offered final placements to 9 students out of the 25 interns. The Alumni Network is very strong; there is an Ex- Bedian association which has active participation in the college.
Fees & Scholarships :
The fee for B.com costs around 16.000-20,000 per year. Various scholarships are given to meritorious students. An annual web-based All India Survey on Higher Education is conducted by AISHE, and St. Bede’s College is successfully registered to AISHE, helping the government assess the Institution’s quality in various aspects. Every year colleges upload the data through an official format offered by AISHE based on several parameters such as basic information about the college, programmes offered, staff information, student enrolment, examination results, financial information, Infrastructural related data, and Scholarship, Loans and Accreditation.The fee is affordable, and students usually do not require loans to pay the fee.
Academics & Faculty :
The faculty is amazing, very helpful and understanding. The semester system has now changed to a yearly system, and students have eight or more subjects. The classes start from 9:00 am and go upto 3:00 in the afternoon. Quality of teaching is absolutely the best; assignments are given on a regular basis, and there are projects and, presentations, events handled by students. An all-rounder approach is there for students to have overall growth.
Clubs & Associations :
There are various Cells and Committees that the students can be a part of. It is compulsory for each student to be a part of 3 Cells and Committees, and they conduct various activities and competitions so that students can enjoy and also learn. All festivals are celebrated at the campus. Collge life is good with a set of rules that need to be followed.
