The Centre for Open and Distance Learning was established in 2011 with the aim of disseminating knowledge and imparting quality education through open and distance learning mode.  The basic focus of the Centre is to prepare human resources of the region and the country by making them skilled and employable.

The Distance Education Centre offers various post-graduate, undergraduate, diploma and certificate programs in emerging areas of science & technology, social sciences, management and humanities with a flexible system to cater to the needs of the learners who otherwise cannot avail the regular mode of education. TU will start an executive development program in 'Panchayati Raj and Rural Development' from autumn semester of 2021.
