Darrang College was established in the year 1945 by the citizens of Tezpur.  In 1953 the college was permanently affiliated to Guwahati University. The attempt of the college to deliver fruitful knowledge to its candidates with the aim to make them a worthy citizen of the country. The claim has always been cleared by a large number of alumni who have brightly shined in the national and international area. The motto of the college is "Be a Jewel Among Men". The college has been awarded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India (NAAC) and University Grants Commission (UGC).

The higher secondary course is conducted in Science, Commerce, and Arts under A.H.S.E.C. In each stream, the classes are held in A & B sections which runs simultaneously.

The college offers a three-year undergraduate course in Commerce, Science and Arts stream. Admission in T.D.C is open to the candidates who have cleared Higher Secondary that is recognized by Guwahati University. The undergraduate courses are divided into two sections which are Commerce and Arts streams. Section A consists of Major Courses and section B consists of General Courses. The Science stream consists of only one section called section A which has Major and General Courses. However, the students need to secure minimum marks in order to get admission in various Major subjects.

Darrang College Fees Structure:

Darrang College offers many courses such as Higher Secondary, Certificate, Graduate, and Postgraduate under Science, Humanity, and Arts discipline. Details about the fees are mentioned below.

• The annual postgraduate fees for Assamese subject is INR 10,000.
• The annual postgraduate fees for the Geography subject is INR 15,000.

Darrang College Infrastructure Facilities:

• The college has an independent library that covers an area of 5033.4 sq.ft. and is situated at the western part of the college campus. The library is modernized and is fully computerized with the technology of bar code.

Darrang College Eligibility Criteria:

Darrang College Tezpur offers many specializations under postgraduate, graduate, certificate and Higher Secondary courses. The eligibility criteria are mentioned below.

• The candidates are eligible for subjects in TDC only if they have cleared Higher Secondary examinations without grace marks.
• If in 10+2 the student has not studied the subject in which he/she wants to take Honors, in such case the eligibility would be on the basis of the aggregate percentage scored by the student.

Darrang College Admission:

The candidates shall apply online for taking admission in Higher Secondary and TDC semester courses by paying an online fee of INR 250.

• The college admission shall be done on the merit basis
• Other board applicants shall be standardized according to AHSEC for Degree Course and SEBA for Higher Secondary Course.
• All the original documents that are relevant for the admission procedure should be produced at the time of admission.
• For the reserved category, the merit list will be prepared according to the rules of the government.
