Burdwan University Scholarship Details

Burdwan University offers scholarships to eligible applicants. The scholarships are offered based on academic performance and economically disadvantaged students. Candidates must meet the eligibility conditions set by the college to avail of the scholarships. Further details about the University of Burdwan scholarship are given below.

Post Graduate Merit Scholarship Scheme for University Rank Holders at Undergraduate Level

The first and second rank holders at the undergraduate level and students admitted in any postgraduate course would be offered the scholarship of Rs. 3100. The scholarship will be offered for two years only, i.e. full duration of a PG course(No other additional grant will be payable, and the scholarship is available to the student for the first PG degree only). The scholarship is not applicable for distance modes of education. The undergraduate courses of streams including life sciences, physical sciences, chemical sciences, earth sciences, mathematical sciences, social sciences, commerce and languages have been identified for the award of scholarships.

Swami Vivekananda Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship Scheme

The Burdwan University scholarship is available for undergraduate level offering Rs. 1000 to Rs. 5000 per month. The candidates with at least 75% of marks in aggregate (Best of five). The students who are enrolled in the first year of the undergraduate course in engineering, medical, general education, nursing, paramedical diploma courses under the aegis of Directorate of Medical Education after passing the H.S Examination or its equivalent examination are eligible to apply. The Burdwan University offers scholarships to postgraduate level students (Rs. 2000 to Rs. 5000 per month). The candidates must obtain at least 53% of marks in Honours subjects at the Graduation level in general education (55% marks in graduation level in honours subject of engineering students) enrolled in the first-year class of postgraduate course in general education or engineering are eligible to apply. The college also provides around Rs for the Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship. 2,000 per month for more than a year and postgraduate scholarship for the single girl child.

• Merit-cum-Means scholarship of Rs 16,800 p.a for science students and Rs 14,400 p.a. for Arts Students.
• Minority Scholarship of Rs 3,000 + Rs. 2,200 (course fee) total and Rs 5,200 p.a. (optional Rs. 2,700 for hostel).
• SC & ST scholarship of Rs 9,000 plus hostel expenses.
• Labour Welfare Scholarship of Rs 3,000 to the wards of Biri workers.
• Physically handicapped scholarship of Rs. 2880 for boarders in hostels & Rs 2040 who are not boarders in the hostel.
• Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan scholarship of Rs. 5,000 p.a.
• National Board of Higher Mathematics scholarship of Rs 72,000 paid to 1 student who stood 1st in Hons. Exam.
• National Handicapped Finance Dev. Corpn. of Rs. 10,000 to 1 or 2 students.
• MHRD-CSS scholarship of Rs. 10,000 p.a. for graduation level & Rs 20,000 p.a. for Master Degree Level.
• Sitaram Jindal scholarship of Rs 6,200, 4,200, 1,800.
• O.N.G.C. scholarship of Rs. 60,000 p.a. paid to the students who stood 1st in M.Sc. Physics and Chemistry.
