Kalyani University, popularly known as the University of Kalyani, was founded in 1960 and oversees 64 associated colleges, all of which grant CBCS (Choice-Based Credit System) degrees. In Nadia, there are 30 colleges affiliated to the university, 33 in Murshidabad, and one in the North Pargana region. The university is accredited by NAAC. It is also recognized by the UGC and AIU. Kalyani University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding that was formed with the University of Kansas Medical Center. The institute is approved by AICET and recognized by UGC and also accredited by NAAC.
