Kalyani University, popularly known as the University of Kalyani, was founded in 1960 and oversees 64 associated colleges, all of which grant CBCS (Choice-Based Credit System) degrees. In Nadia, there are 30 colleges affiliated to the university, 33 in Murshidabad, and one in the North Pargana region. The university is accredited by NAAC. It is also recognized by the UGC and AIU. Kalyani University syllabus is also available online.

Kalyani University admission is open for the academic year 2024 for UG, PG, and Research courses. Different procedures are followed for admissions to various programs. The institute is spread over an area of 378 acres of land and hence provides good infrastructure facilities for the students of the institute. The university has also collaborated with many other instutitutes and organizations for the benefit of the students.

Admission to all programs is based on merit lists, which are provided by the university, followed by counseling.
