Library
Library serves as a resource center and aims to develop a comprehensive collection of document’s useful for faculty and students of the institute and provides an efficient dissemination of knowledge. Library intends to incorporate the latest technology and adopt user friendly approach towards students and faculty. Library intends to offer comprehensive services related to dissemination of knowledge.It also has a Digital Library which provides online access to the e-resource of the Digital Library portals of IEEE, ASME, ASCE, etc.
The Smart Campus consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials, article indexing and OPAC. Library aims at serving the academic needs of all students and faculty members.
The Library maintains a separate reference collection consisting of encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, atlases, etc. The Reference Section facility is extended to the students, staff and faculty of the Institute. The library also supports the reprography section.
Hostel
The college has separate hostel for boys and girls. The hostel can accommodate 600 boys and 300 girls. Two students stay in one room. Single room accommodation is given to the final years and PG Students. The Mess is spacious with a dining hall and kitchen. Separate seating arrangements are made for both boys and girls, as well as for Vegetarians and Non-Vegetarians.
Department of Physical Education
You shouldn’t spend all your time in the classroom. In fact, we encourage you to exercise your body as much as your mind. Between classes, go play some games, shoot some tennis balls, or take a couple of runs around the track. You might consider joining one of our men’s and women’s intercollegiate teams. Velammal College of Engineering and Technology competes in various divisions, and we are especially known for our champion Ball Badminton,Badminton teams & Athletics.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Two hostels are there, they are fine, hostel fee per month is around 8,000. Food is nice and meals are in the range of Rs.50 and the Quality of classrooms is good.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : You should study maths, physics, and chemistry in the 12th standard. No entrance examinations, admissions are based on 12th marks cutoffs. Typical cutoffs for our course will be around 180-185.
Placements & Internships : I haven't yet attended internships. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS visit our campus. The average salary ranges from 5-6 lakhs, the highest salary of 12 lakhs per annum from ZOHO.
Fees & Scholarships : Velammal College of Engineering and Technology, [VCET] Madurai [BE] (Mechanical Engineering) Fee Structure. The course fee at VCET is Rs. 77,700 per year excluding hostel fees. 10 Students per Class.
Academics & Faculty : It is good, their coaching is good. The quality and method of teaching are good, Academics are good, but there are no other extracurricular activities.
Clubs & Associations : There are NSS, NCC and other associations. No festivals, this is the main drawback. For academic purpose, it's good, for other activities it needs to improve.
