Library
The improvement of the library remains a top priority for the college administration. Hence, we have a Library Committee chaired by our Principal/TIC. Frequent meetings of this committee are held throughout the year and important issues are discussed. In the mission towards achieving a fully computerized library, we have come a long way. In addition to the Central Library, each of the 13 Honours Departments has a Seminar Library. The HODs monitor all the activities of these libraries in consultations with the Librarian. Students are very satisfied with the easy accessibility of various text and reference books.
Canteen
There is a subsidized canteen, where the students can have tea and snacks at a reasonable rate. The atmosphere is clean and hygienic. Our staff can also avail this facility.
Hostels
We are in the process of setting up two hostels for SC/ST students and another for female students. At a distance of less than 10 minutes of walk from the college, the Govt. of West Bengal has allotted us 17 katha plots of land (nearly 4047 sq mts). We have already received the title deed from the Govt. Now the PWD will be requested to estimate and plan the building construction. The whole process including the construction and furnishing can be successfully completed when funds will be available.
Computer Centre
The Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College Computer Centre is a well-maintained and efficiently run unit of our institution. Many online and offline facilities are available here. Students and staff of our college are all eligible to avail these facilities. Computer Application forms a part of the syllabus for the students of Commerce (Hons. & Gen.), Physics (Hons. & Gen.) and Journalism & Mass Communication (Gen.). Their computer oriented practical classes and examinations are held in the college Computer Centre.
