Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech:

Vimal Jyothi Engineering College Chemperi - Kannur belongs to the Kerala Catholic Engineering College Management’s Association (KCECMA) and tuition fees, admission policies etc are same for our 15 colleges. As per the agreement with government 50% of the B.Tech. seats in all the member colleges of KCECMA will be allotted by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE).

50% of the seats will be allotted by the management.

The admission to B.Tech (4 year Full Time) programme at Vimal Jyothi Engineering College Chemperi (VJEC) is offered under Kerala Technological University ( KTU) - Trivandrum and approved by AICTE.

  • 1) Nationality: Candidates must be Citizens of India.
  • 2) Academic Requirements: Pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or an examination recognised equivalent thereto with at least 45% (Forty-Five) marks in Mathematics separately and 45% (Forty-Five) marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/equivalent subjects put together or equivalent grade.  
  • 3) Entrance Examination: Candidates should qualify in the Engineering Entrance Exam conducted by Commissioner of Entrance Exams, Govt. of Kerala. 
  • 4) NRI allotment: Score in the entrance is not required for NRI allotment. However, they have to fulfil the academic eligibility as per norms. 
  • 5) Age: Applicants should have completed 17 years of age. No relaxation of age will be allowed 

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech:

All the candidates seeking admission into the institution for the above post graduation courses should be a graduate with a bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering discipline obtained through the [10+2+3] system or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 55% or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India.

A Relaxation of 5% of marks on the minimum aggregate is allowed for SC/ST candidates.

Application Process for B.Tech:

Candidates can also get an admission into the institution through all India level engineering entrance test, JEE Mains.

The institution might conduct their own entrance test if applicable.

Application Process for M.Tech:

The candidates can apply in two ways to avail an admission:

  • The other option would be to opt the all India GATE exam. The details about this particular entrance test can be sought here.
  • Candidates can also get an admission by institutional quota(management quota) whose rights are all reserved by the institution.
  • Candidates will have to avail the application form from the website of the institution.

Admission Process for B.Tech, M.Tech:

The admission procedure at VJEC is as per the government regulations and the policies of the KCECMA association declared in the prospectus.

  • 1) Government allotment: 50% of the total seats in each branch will be filled by the government allotment.
  • 2) Community seats in Govt allotment:  10% of the seats in each branch are allotted on community basis by the government. Applicants have to submit the relevant docs to prove their community as per the direction.  
  • 3) NRI Seats: 15% of the seats are allotted to the NRI category as per norms 
  • 4) Management allotment: 35% of the seats are allotted under management category on pure merit from the rank list published by the Vimal Jyothi College.
